Now that I shared all the depictions of the Great Khans of the Yeke Mongghol Ulus from 1206-1388, here is the family tree from Chinggis Khan to Tögüs-Temür, showing mothers as well. 10 generations of fun.
1/ Tögüs-Temür was Great Khan of the Mongol Empire from 1378-88. Depending on the source, he was either a son or brother of the previous Khan, Ayushiridara. Tögüs-Temür came to power after the end of Mongol rule in China.

During the Month of Ramadan, Amir Timur would order Samarkand to be beautified for the entire month. Orders would also be issued that a sheep would be given to each household for consumption from the state treasury. Timur would also invite scholars & Sufi's to Samarkand, were during the day discussions were held on various topics such as religion & history. - Ahmet Şimşirgil, Otağ 2.

The beginning! #OTD (12th of Ramadan 1370), the regime of Amir Timur is affirmed by the Chaghatay Ulus, thus marking the beginning of Timur's reign & the establishment of one of the greatest dynasties in world history, the Timurid Gurkanid dynasty (1370-1858). Prior to his accession, Timur met Imam Sayid Baraka of Andkhoi, one of the most illustrious descendants of the house of the Prophet ﷺ. The white bearded cleric told Timur of a forthcoming magnificent future & handed him a standard & a kettledrum, traditional emblems of royalty. The blessings & prayers from the Sayid embolden Timurs conviction. In a matter of a few weeks, Timur made his grand entry into Samarkand as Amir. #History #Mughals #Timurids

Rudaki to Nasr Samani : "... Long live Bukhara! Be thou of good cheer! Joyous towards thee hasteth our Amir! The moon’s the prince, Bukhara is the sky; O Sky, the Moon shall light thee by and by! Bukhara is the Mead, the Cypress he; Receive at last, O Mead, thy Cypress tree!"

A map illustrating the military campaigns and the expansion of Mongol territory under the leadership of Genghis Khan after the founding of the Mongol Empire in 1206 AD, until his death in 1227 AD. Genghis Khan (1162-1227) rose from relative obscurity on the Mongolian plateau to establish the largest land empire that ever existed, spanning the entire Asian continent from the coast of the Pacific to Hungary in the heart of Europe. At its peak, the Mongol empire covered more than 11 million square miles (close to 30 million square kilometers), an area as big as Africa. Yet, in this Pax Mongolica, a letter from Tabriz could be safely delivered to Beijing (a distance of 5,000 miles / 8,000 km) in about a month. This humongous empire was carved out through vision, capable administration, multiple weakened Asian states, and on the backs of the "devil's horsemen," the greatest, fastest, most versatile cavalry ever. Genghis' descendants expanded the realm as far as Korea, Syria, Vietnam, and Poland, enduring through the Yuan dynasty in China, the Chagatai khanate in Central Asia, the Golden Horde in southern Russia, and the Ilkhanid dynasty in Greater Iran. © Simeon Netchev #archaeohistories

The "Shah-i Zinda" (Persian for "The Living King") necropolis in Samarkand before and after its renovation. We often forget our shiny buildings looked very different just few decades back. Heritage needs maintenance otherwise it perishes like everything else.
