😺 Hey my Human-AI Interaction friends -- Check out this new conference we are launching. Block your calendar, send your work, and join the organizational effort! I will be at #COLM2026, #CSCW2026, and #UIST2026 -- find us to chat more about it 😍 😍
We’re excited to announce the inaugural Human–AI Interaction Conference (HAIC 2027), taking place June 27–30, 2027, in Washington, DC (CFP coming soon at haic.cc). HAIC focuses on translational impact, turning human–AI research into meaningful real-world impact.
Hey friends -- join us for this very fun #uist2026 workshop!!
We’re organizing Revibing HCI, a full-day workshop at #UIST2026!
Coding agents can now read an HCI paper and reimplement, or “revibe,” the system it describes.
We’ll revibe + remix a classic UIST system together, explore how to evaluate the resulting revibes, and discuss what revibing means for the future of HCI systems research.
📅 Nov 2 · Detroit
📝 No position paper required

HAIPS is back! Join us at @COLM_conf 2026 for the 2nd Workshop on Human-Centered Privacy and Security for Language Models.
📍 Oct 9, 2026 · San Francisco
🗓️ Submissions due: June 23, 2026

LM privacy & security is not just a model-internals problem. These risks emerge across the full lifecycle of real-world systems: training, deployment, use, and downstream impact.
HAIPS@COLM 2026 brings together the language modeling, HCI, usable security, privacy, and policy communities to advance research on LM privacy/security that is technically grounded, socially aware, and accountable to the people who use and are affected by these systems.
We welcome your submissions and look forward to seeing you at HAIPS@COLM 2026!
Organized by @tianshi_li, @TobyJLi, @yaxingyao, @scyrusk, and @niloofar_mire.

Do We Need Subsidiarity in Software? #CHI2026 paper led by @louisaconwill. Subsidiarity is a principle where decisions or control should occur at the lowest level possible and the highest level necessary. Think about that for platforms like this one...

Friends, join us for this workshop in human-agent collaboration at #chi2026!
CFP | CHI 2026 Workshop (Barcelona, in-person): Human-Agent Collaboration
LLM agents can sustain open-ended dialogue, reason, plan, and take action. Yet most still struggle to collaborate with humans: shared context, mutual awareness, mixed initiative, and shared accountability. The gap shows up as brittle coordination and trust miscalibration, plus risks like hallucinations, privacy/security failures, misaligned autonomy, and over-anthropomorphization.
In this workshop, we propose a concrete design lens: treat LLM agents as remote collaborators. We could draw on decades of CSCW and HCI research to ask what carries over from distributed teamwork, what breaks, and what new interaction patterns we need for mixed-initiative, multi-party, and asynchronous human–agent work. We’ll have keynotes, panel discussions, selected lightning talks, posters, and a hands-on storyboard design session to map open problems and design directions.
How to participate:
(1) Submit a 2–4 page position paper (accepted papers receive reserved participation slots), or
(2) Apply via a participatory form describing what you want to contribute or learn (invitations depend on available capacity).
Submission Deadline: Feb 15, 2026 (AoE)

If you're are an HCI student navigating the industry job market, here’s my unsolicited take on why you should stop defending 'human-centeredness'. I’m rarely right. Read at your own risk: minsukchang.com/blog/2026-01…

Biggest takeaway from @jeffbigham's talk at the #ICCV2025 CV4A11y Workshop: There are a lot of turtles.
But seriously, cool to see great arguments on how advancements on LLMs and VLMs alone don't solve a11y automatically. There are actually more cool work to do enabled by LMs.
My 1st time at @acm_ccs (and any security conference)! Please say hi if you are around! I've been having lots of Taiwanese food🍲🥘🇹🇼
We (@tianshi_li @yaxingyao @scyrusk) will host workshop on Human-Centered AI Privacy and Security (HAIPS) (haips.com/) this Friday!
Congrats Yinuo!
My undergraduate thesis paper SPARK just got the Honorable Mention Award in #vlhcc25! 🥳 Thanks for my supervisors @gezhang001, @AprilWang95 and Steve!
