Last thing I’ll say regarding hitter timing. I liken the swing to a wave. We see the crest and the crash, but the story lies in the wave’s formation.
Do we currently have the ability to measure the formation? I say no.
Wrote about what's behind Shohei Ohtani's nearly-two-months-and-counting-homerless drought.
Short answer: his timing seems wonked

The Brewers are the ultimate OUTLIER
When I was diving in on the game and pitching matchup yesterday I found this. This is a statistic of the average degree of the barrel of the bat at contact point for each team.
Everything to the left is pull side contact point. Everything to the right is opposite field contact point.
29 of the 30 teams are to the pull side.
There’s just one to the opposite field. The Milwaukee Brewers.
This is wild to me. And speaks volumes to their team approach. It means the ball is traveling deeper which has a ripple effect on everything else you’re trying to do as a hitter.
It allows you to recognize off speed for a split second longer. Spit on pitches down and away. Keep pitches fair that you’re normally pulling foul. Foul line to foul line approach.
The team with the best record in all of baseball is the ONLY team doing something. And they’re not even particularly close to any other teams. That’s pretty eye opening.
Also shoutout Twins. Turn and burn, baby.

Albert Belle was unstoppable at the plate🔥
From 1993-1998, Albert Belle hit .310 with an OPS of 1.003. His 251 HR in that span ranked second and his 772 RBI led baseball. It’s easy to see why the White Sox were willing to make him the highest paid player in the sport!

This angle gets me, where he’s just kind of standing there soaking it in, then sees his daughter and smiles, then instantly melts into tears … whew. Hell of a run, 35.

The Mariners drafted and developed their *entire* 6-man rotation, which is really cool!
The weird part: those pitchers *collectively* threw 7 IP in AAA before their MLB debuts as SP.
An entire 6-man MLB rotation effectively skipped AAA, and Sloan is likely to do the same thing!

#Phillies Luis Arraez is batting .451/.419/.561 with 86 RBI batting with a runner on this with less than two outs over the last five seasons. He has struck out just twice.
You may think that on-base percentage is a typo, but it is not. How? The intentioanl art of the sacrifice fly, and he has 23 of them.

The Rangers have parted ways with Josh Smith, closing the book on parts of five seasons in Texas 🥺
Texas acquired Smith five years ago, nearly to the day, in the July 2021 trade that sent Joey Gallo to the Yankees. He made his debut in 2022 and grew into one of the most versatile players on the roster.
Smith took the field at every position except pitcher and catcher, appearing in 501 games in a Rangers uniform.
The high point came in 2024. After two seasons spent fighting for a regular role, he won his first Silver Slugger as a utility man, hitting .258 with 13 home runs and 62 RBI.
He leaves Texas with 366 hits, 32 home runs, and 136 RBI across those five seasons, along with 31 stolen bases and 197 runs scored. Wherever they needed him, he lined up and played.
Thank you for the memories, Josh. Forever a 2023 World Series Champion. All the best in what comes next! ❤️

Once again, our boys get it done….a ton of hard work and determination has paid off
So proud of all 116 of our boys in this class. 92 young men will continue forward and play at the collegiate level. The other 24 will go on to do great things off the field without a doubt
Congratulations to the Class of 2026
We are super thankful for the mark you left on Knights Knation!

It is hard to watch other families give their kids things you can’t afford and wonder if your children are falling behind.
But you don’t have to go into debt, pause the Baby Steps or sacrifice your family’s financial peace just to keep up.
Your kids don’t need the most expensive school, the nicest car or every opportunity money can buy. They need parents who love them enough to say no, teach gratitude, model integrity and show them how to do hard things.
Staying on the Baby Steps isn’t depriving your kids. You are teaching them that wisdom matters more than appearances and that money is a tool, not a measure of their worth.
You aren’t failing your kids because you can’t give them everything.
You are teaching them how to live like no one else so someday they can live and give like no one else.
