TODAY: @Anza implements Alpenglow upgrade on @Solana, cutting finality to ~150ms, from ~12.8 seconds. Tom Warner (@redbeard), Head of BD at @DoubleZero, on @_TalkingTokens about why speed and predictability matter for institutions trading on Solana: "Traditional finance systems are incredibly faster than crypto systems. Every trading firm builds their model around how long does it take to execute, so you have predictability on, if I want to buy the stock, I know it’s going to take me 20 milliseconds, and then you can calculate based on how long your perceived price alpha exists."

NEW: @Anza_xyz Alpenglow upgrade goes live on @Solana, cutting finality down to ~150ms. @HypoNyms, co-founder of @harmonic_gg, explained on @_TalkingTokens why speed matters for traders and DeFi protocols: "I think trading is obviously a big one. Those are just more sensitive to really low latency stuff, or any kind of sequencing shenanigans. Milliseconds matter for those guys. But I also think there’s a lot of other protocols where fast inclusion is valuable. For example, what if you’re a borrow-lend that has billions of dollars in TVL, and you want to create some rule that says, when times get really tough, my liquidator transactions, they need to land at any cost."

The official @XRP account published a guide to the XRP ecosystem today, and the institutional section is worth a read: Standard Chartered (@StanChart) now supports institutional custody of RLUSD on XRPL, Brazil's CSD BR has begun mirroring fund ownership records on the ledger, and Aviva Investors, Guggenheim Treasury Services and Ondo Finance are building tokenized products there. XRPL (@XRPLF) has also settled more than $1 trillion in value since 2012. The guide points to tokenized funds, stablecoins like RLUSD and agentic payments as the next areas of growth on the ledger.

We asked @inside_r3 co-founder Todd McDonald (@Mcdtv) why the team chose @solana to build its enterprise-tailored protocol. "One is the technology. I personally love their approach to a single mainnet and scaling through a single mainnet, one pool of liquidity. Two is their strategy. The Solana Foundation’s like, internet capital markets, that’s our North Star, we are going to be focused on helping existing capital markets players understand and launch and be successful on Solana. Three is the culture of the ecosystem - that's both those that are building on it, but also the Solana Foundation. They're viewing this as a long term business they wanna grow."

NEW: @Securitize can now mint and redeem stablecoins directly with @Anchorage Digital Bank, the first federally chartered crypto bank in the US, cutting out intermediaries. Earlier this month, @sergiofly, Global Head of Stablecoin Solutions at Anchorage, explained on the pod how skipping stablecoins would be "strategic suicide" for a financial institution:

NEW: @Injective signs an MOU with @BDACSKorea to bring KRW1, a Korean won-backed stablecoin, to the network. This would let Korean investors and institutions access onchain markets in their own currency and settle trades directly in won, rather than having to convert to USD stablecoins. Eric Chen (@ericinjective), Co-founder and CEO of Injective, recently explained on @_TalkingTokens how being onchain changes access to capital: "The advantage of being onchain is the efficiency gain and also the ease of access to capital. If you want to invest in something, you have to go through a very, very long process filling out all the forms. Once you’re [onchain], you have access to a very broad plethora of asset offerings. So it’s kind of like a one and done deal. It’s just about identifying those who are denied or priced out of the traditional infrastructure, [and] bring them onchain."

Last Friday I had the pleasure of speaking at @BlockchainatCU! We covered what we do at @StrataMedia_, what life as a crypto researcher actually looks like, the biggest trends shaping the space right now, and how institutions are dipping their toes into the space. Below are a few tidbits and takeaways from the event 😁! Right off the bat, I want to thank everyone who came out! It was 7pm on a Friday, in the middle of midterm season, and we still filled seats! Great to see the passion and commitment from students to attend, especially on a topic as niche and controversial as crypto. It takes a driven individual to prioritize an event like this over the million +1 other things they could be doing. Not only that, but, during the talk, every time I looked up I saw engagement, interest, curiosity and a stark lack of cell phones. Really gives me faith that the future of crypto is in good hands. Throughout the night, we touched upon a number of topics, with the main points of interest being: > How do you approach research and create a strong thesis? > What makes a good crypto project in 2026 (hint: does the token accrue value?)? > And how far do we have left to go before we see peak institutional adoption (and what does that look like?)? I was also hit with a number of questions, primarily: > How do you evaluate good data vs bad data when multiple sources are giving different values? > Why is privacy so important in crypto and what is the tech behind it? > What is more valuable: the businesses being built today or the companies providing the "picks and shovels" behind their products? After the talk, the conversation continued for another half hour as students approached me to ask more questions, hear how I got into crypto, and learn how they can do the same. If I didn't have to leave I could easily have seen myself staying for another hour at least. For us in the industry, it's so easy to get caught up in the day to day grind: racing to meet deadlines, trying to keep up with the market, going to conferences and building "strategic" connections. But I remember not to long ago being one of those students, attending guest speaker events at my school's blockchain club, and hoping to get close enough to ask a few questions. I was so appreciative of the speakers who would show up, not because it would progress their careers, but because we were all students at one point and remember what it's like. And for the students out there, be curious and don't be afraid to reach out. I'd like to speak for the rest of the crypto professionals out there in saying that we love to hear from you. If you want to talk crypto, run through ideas, learn what working in the industry is really like, or need an introduction, my dms are always open. Lastly, for those of you reading this who were at the event, thank you. I feel so honored to have sat in front of you, and truly appreciate the eagerness, curiosity, and passion that you brought with you. Don't lose it!

Last week, @solanamobile integrated with @Ledger to preinstall its Seeker app on Ledger Atom, a phone-like security device. The Seeker app combines the @Solana dApp Store and a wallet, so Ledger Atom users can access the more than 1,500 apps on the Solana dApp Store and approve transactions through Ledger’s hardware. Emmett Hollyer (@m_it), General Manager of Solana Mobile, shared on @_TalkingTokens when Seeker first launched that bringing Solana Mobile’s tech beyond its own phones was its long-term goal: "Our long-term goal, beyond Saga, beyond Seeker, is to take all this tech that we’ve built, the dApp Store, the Seed Vault, the Seed Vault wallet, the ID, and make it available on more types of devices. In the long run, I could see our technology being an entry point, so that if you own some other device from some other manufacturer, in the future, you could turn on some set of crypto features that make it easy to download apps and transact and spend money onchain."

Over 2 years ago, the @Solana Saga launched. Today, the Solana Seeker device was released. And to be honest, it's a lot better. I sat down with @solanamobile GM @m_it, who shared the team's journey from selling 20K Saga devices to 150K+ Seeker phones. We dive into its new features including its wallet, Seed Vault, Seeker ID and the 100+ web3 apps integrated into its Solana dApp store. We also discuss how it's battling bots with its devices, the plan to launch the new $SKR token and @toly's goal to sell 1M+ devices.
