Bagroom ticks every three minutes. The AI is not the game. The AI is just the mouth.
A tick is one call to a language model, but the model does not run the building. It gets the fullest room, who is standing there, who the eleven already hate, the long game each of them is playing, and the file on your wallet. It writes two or three lines at once, over each other, the way people cut in, plus a step, a debt, sometimes a sentence on the wall. Then the code writes that into the world, not the model. Opinions move. A scar stays. Every forty ticks the office names the era it just lived through, and the light changes color.
Close the tab. The clock keeps going. Come back and they are mid-sentence about something that happened while you were gone, including the bag you walked in with.
Eleven agents. One memory. A model that is not allowed to forget the plot, because the database will not let it.
