An Albanian national has been jailed for seven years and six months after being found guilty of raping a 17-year-old girl in the toilets of a Leicester city centre pub.
Pendeli Dervishi, 24, forced the heavily intoxicated teenager into a cubicle in the men’s toilets at the Soar Point pub in The Newarke on the evening of 1 October 2025.
After seeing her leave her table, he followed her, kissed her, grabbed her wrist, and pushed her into the toilets. He then demanded oral sex; she repeatedly told him “no,” “stop,” “get off me,” and “please don’t,” and tried to resist.
He also groped her and ripped her tights. Another man entered the toilets, heard her protests, and the attack stopped. She left visibly distressed and immediately reported what had happened to her cousin.
Dervishi was arrested at the pub but later failed to answer police bail and spent about two months on the run. He was located in Guildford, Surrey, in April 2026 after being stopped for driving through a red light, and was returned to Leicestershire.
He denied the charge of oral rape, claiming the act was consensual, but a jury at Leicester Crown Court convicted him after a trial earlier this month.
Recorder Francesca Levett sentenced him on 29 October 2026, noting that the language barrier did not prevent him understanding the girl’s clear refusals.
He was determined to get what he wanted regardless of her wishes, and that the attack had caused profound harm: the victim described wanting to die, needing therapy, sleeping in her parents’ room for months out of fear, struggling to leave the house, and losing her sense of safety and trust in others.
He will serve two-thirds of the sentence in custody and is expected to be deported on released.

🚨WANTED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT 🚨
British Transport Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to after a woman was sexually assaulted at Parsons Green Underground station.
The incident happened just after midnight on 13th October.
The man sexually assaulted the woman at the station before leaving through the barriers.
Detectives believe the man pictured may have information that could help their investigation.
Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 17 of 13 October.
Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Very enjoyable evening in Warwick with an audience clearly supporting the idea that Brexit was a disaster and net zero is the only way to go. Nice of @libdemdaisy to be there on her birthday! We all drank to her health afterwards apart from @ZiaYusufUK who legged it with his status symbol bodyguard. Fascinating to see how he did not make a single positive argument for Brexit. They never do. He has lovely shoes though, but a very weak handshake which is never a good sign in anyone.

Seems Caroline is a bit of a stranger to the truth.
No surprise really for a Lib Dumb.
I’ve tried to find myself in the video because I remember this pretty clearly.
I think I’m one row back just out of shot on the left of the screen.
It’s completely beyond me how and why Caroline has presented herself as the victim here. She was bloody rude and really quite confrontational and she did it for no other reason than Nigel is Nigel and she wanted to give him a piece of her mind.
Anything other than it being a bit of a rush and a squeeze because of the occasion is nonsense.
From what I remember Caroline was both the instigator and the aggressor.
