Excellent piece here on the damage the Glazers have done to #mufc. It’s to the football authorities’ eternal shame that more wasn’t done to prevent this leveraged buyout, and those who sold their shares to the Glazers deserve criticism. A tale of shameless greed and ineptitude.
If time is the great healer then 21 years isn't nearly enough at Old Trafford.
On the lengthening shadow of that Glazer takeover and how Manchester United's debt hurts the club now more than ever before

Yep Avram, £1.1bn in debt, unable to compete in the league anymore due to your continued ignorance within the sporting department. Heading for relegation which could genuinely push the club over the brink. I'm sure sporting success doesn't affect the club. #MUFC

Apart from being tone-deaf, this is just plain wrong from Avram Glazer.
Yes Manchester United enjoyed a brief commercial boom as on-field results plummeted post-Ferguson — reflecting a change in the club's priorities — but since then commercial income has flatlined in an era of huge growth elsewhere (e.g. Liverpool and Arsenal). A failing #MUFC still holds great commercial appeal, obviously, but a successful #MUFC would bring in far more revenue, commercially and otherwise.
Does Avram Glazer really believe what he's saying? Surely not. Although it would explain a lot ...

Butt is conflating three things and then claiming to speak for the fans.
1. He's continually misrepresented Martinez's comments about Wilcox as attacking his team mates. That's total bollocks. He did not attack his teammates.
2. Martinez's red on Sunday was among the most stupid things I've ever seen a United player do. He very much deserves condemnation for that. If United had a deeper squad he may never play for club again. We don't, he will.
3. Malvinas flag at the WC ... well that is a pervasive national feeling in Argentina and the little Englander routine belongs back in 1982 not 2026.
😡 "Back in my day, he would have his head RIPPED off!"
🇦🇷 "He lives in our country and is dancing around with an Argentina flag in the World Cup!"
Nicky Butt says Martinez should be AXED from the Man United squad...

Next summer we’re going to need 3 CB’s, 2 LB’s, a No. 10, ST and LW. That’s 8 players and they’ll be no CL revenues. We’re fucked.

The 2005 leveraged Man United takeover made the club an empty husk, bled dry by vulture capitalists. Becoming the weekly butt of everyone else's joke was accelerated by the equally hopeless INEOS-led front. Until that changes, anything else is rearranging the Titanic deck chairs.

Keane has had an agenda for years. This is nothing new.
The Glazers were buying shares as early as March 2003, before the Rock of Gibraltar fallout. United had been a publicly listed PLC since 1991.
Yes, the Fergie–Magnier dispute contributed to the breakdown in the club’s ownership structure, but that doesn’t make Sir Alex responsible for the Glazers’ takeover.
Rivals are so bitter and hurt by Sir Alex that they desperately want United fans to turn against him. I’m afraid it won’t work.
The blame belongs with those who facilitated the takeover and the football authorities @FA @premierleague who allowed a leveraged buyout that saddled our club with debt.

Not signing a striker when your only striker has been out for the whole of pre-season with a persistent injury was the greatest act of idiocy and self-harm by the Manchester United hierarchy and emblematic of their hopeless reign
🚨 Confirmed: Benjamin Sesko out until at least January through shin injury.
Period of rest is required so striker is fully healed.
