Alan Rickman once walked past my mum bollocking me and my brother in the street for misbehaving, interrupted her and told us to be as naughty as possible 'by order of the Sherrif of Nottingham!'

Cool cool cool cool.
Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks. By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time. Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.

TFL are now claiming the 'Are they hiding something?' poster is unauthorised flyposting... but official news sources covered these posters going up, including variants of that exact poster. TFL say they have reported it to British Transport Police, but... it looks like BTP themselves ran the campaign.
Disgusting insinuation in this campaign. Absolutely appalling @MayorofLondon @TfL @ACT

Rare feeling of patriotism rising from within upon learning that this advice even needed to be given. What a country.
Outstanding PA drop: Alcohol should not be the priority when preparing an emergency box of supplies, Prime Minister Andy Burnham has advised the public. Under a new Government “be ready” campaign, households are being urged to be prepared in case everyday services are temporarily disrupted, with three days of key supplies set aside. Housing Secretary Angela Rayner previously joked that a bottle of sauvignon blanc and mascara would be part of her kit. Asked if wine would also be part of his emergency box, Mr Burnham said: “I’m not sure that that’s the top of the list in terms of the advice that we’re giving to the to the public. “You need to have a clear head when it comes to a challenging situation. “So yeah, some tins of food, some bottled water. But I’m sure people are allowed a glass or two as well to get them through a difficult situation,” he added.

not to be a hater, but these are 0% alcohol, so I count them all as 0 pints
Introducing The Cheeky Pint Benchmark. We made our intern watch every episode of Cheeky Pint to bring you this breakdown of pints drank by guests to the nearest sixth. Congratulations to @elonmusk who is currently in the lead with three full pints of Guinness.

I'm going to keep saying this, despite it being a very route one idea: IMO, an AI assistant at the BBC *has* to be called 'Auntie' Lean in to the nostalgia and history!
During the call, a version of the iPlayer was shown with an AI assistant called "Iggy", who you can ask for similar programmes or shows in other languages. It also featured BBC YouTube content and short-form video. Brittin, a Google guy, is very focussed on the iPlayer.

We have been made aware of scam emails being sent purporting to be from a Today members of staff inviting authors onto the show for interview. We want to make clear that our team would only ever send invitations to appear from a bbc .co.uk email address – and we would never ask people to pay to appear on the programme. These emails have been referred to the BBC’s Corporate Investigations team. Similar scam messages were covered in this recent edition of You And Yours ⬇️ bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m002wh…

We have so little insight into what the government wants to do with the BBC during a seismic charter renewal, BBC News is having to re-heat an interview with the culture secretary that originally aired on The Media Show two weeks ago. xitter.cf/BBCNewsnight/status/21…
“Income is falling and that means the cuts have to bite somewhere.” @katierazz asks Lisa Nandy MP whether she is surprised by the “scale” of cuts at the BBC, with the Culture Secretary adding “through the Charter we are determined to put the BBC on a sustainable footing.”

After all these years since the launch of the Web, Social Media and now AI, subscriptions and advertising are both important business models for all these tech companies. Publishers need to think about what that means for them?
