I think there is a lot to learn from the examples of others, especially anyone who’s been through physical or mental adversity. The first sense you lose if you’re struggling to cope is your sense of humour. That can be a good clue that someone you know is having a tough time.

I appreciate accessible changing rooms more than ever since getting @Kika_GuideDog so we don’t have to squeeze into tiny spaces, but this one in @HackettLondon is kitted out really well for those that need extra help, with support rails & an alarm. #accessible
ALT Kika is laid on the floor of the extra large accessible changing room. It has hooks on the wall and a stool in a corner like normal but then has a number of support rails fixed to the wall by the stool and an alarm/call system installed there too. Kika almost blends into the beige carpet and the rest of the room is Matt gold and neutral so very calming.

Today is #WhiteCaneAwarenessDay. It's safe to say that I've had a love/hate relationship with my cane but I'm now so much more confident when using it and it's given me a lot more independence. It can be hard but I've learned to embrace it and I'm not ashamed of using it anymore.
