Have been working on various thing including a (hand crafted) engine for the past 7 months with the goal of large forests with highpoly vegetation (around 1M instances * 4M tris in this case). Haven't really been motivated to post on X lately, but I will go into more detail soon.
As seen with modern game engines, making gamedev easier won't result in better games being made. If you don't like going the extra mile learning gamedev, you won't like going the extra mile polishing anything. Easy to use templates that paid creators have also existed for a while
Experiments with hardware raytraced GI in #Godot. Per pixel for short range with probe fallback. The ground foliage isn't present in the BVH and the color comes purely from the ground. It also uses one bounce (everything else uses two).
Meshlet rendering and deferred texturing using a visibility buffer in Godot. For the sake of simplicity I only use dx12 for now.
Happy to see that my Godot project has made it into the #GodotEngine Showreel 2025.
The game still has a long way to go but I try to post updates to my Youtube channel (semi)regularly.
In the future I also want to give more insights into how to tackle and optimize such scenes.
Out now!
Also added a tool to modify line width afterwards.
Support for custom shaders and audiolink will come in the next release.

Beat Saber 1.29 sees a comeback of Scribble. With new tools, a brush that supports fog/reflections and a brush that lights up with selectable beatmap light id.
Have been working a bit further on it and it's close to release. All interactions are now supported and you can post maps directly from the web interface using the map id.
That was a nice semester break, time to concentrate on uni again.
The new Beat Saber update that completely fucks all custom model mods:
