I guess it's time for me to update this.
Hi, all my new followers and people stumbling upon me. Let me tell you about me:
- I am a Libertarian. Big L. NOT a Republican. NOT a Democrat. NOT a Liberal or Conservative. I guess you can technically call me a Classic Liberal. Some have called Libertarians "socially liberal and fiscally conservative" and yeah, that lines up with me pretty nicely.
- Yes, I know my party - which is the Libertarian Party - has problems. I acknowledge them and try to help make them better.
- I talk about politics and both agree and disagree with people you love and hate. If you came here to find an echo chamber, you're in the wrong place. I have some takes that not everyone is going to love.
- I am very respectful in disagreement and debate. I'm not the one who's going to devolve into calling you names in a debate. I also welcome respectful debate.
- Likewise, I am going to mostly ignore you calling me names. However, mistaking my kindness for weakness is a mistake.
- I firmly believe that disagreement (on almost every subject) is not hatred. I follow a lot of people with whom I disagree sharply.
- I'm an IT guy by trade - leadership currently, but I came up through the sysadmin and netadmin ranks.
- I also talk about music of all types and I like most things. There is one huge exception that someone who knows me will almost always mention in the replies.
- I also talk about sports, and am a fan of the @NHLFlames (#CofRed), @RedSox, @OhioStAthletics
and @BuffaloBills (#LetsGoBuffalo📷📷) - and there are other teams I like, so we'll probably talk about that.
- I live and work in@GoPSUsports (#WeAre) Country and in fact drive by Beaver Stadium on the way to work some days. So, we'll probably talk about
@penn_state too
- The sport I talk about most is curling, for sure, and I am what you would call a former curler at this point. That's worth more than just a list entry. - I have been called The Minister of the Pants by @curling. I talk a little more about that on my @redargyle profile but I'm talking about it more here.
- I do have a LinkTree (in my bio) where I give you links to all my socials, and I have a lot of them, but I'm most active here.
- I live in Central Pennsylvania, but I have lived in Rochester NY (#585represent), Enfield CT, and for shorter times in Buffalo NY, Calgary AB, Raleigh NC, Olean NY (@StBonaventure graduate), Vernon CT and Columbus OH - and I've been to lots of other places.
- I majored in Mathematics and Spanish Literature in college and have done significant Masters level work in Information Technology and Romance Linguistics. Sí, hablo un poco de español... e estou tentando aprender português no momento.
- Yes, I'm American, and yes, I talk a LOT about Canada, too. Our two countries are both great and we have a lot to learn from each other. Our two countries are also not perfect, and we do well to accept that.
- I talk about other countries, too. I am most likely following your country's election, and if anyone doubts that, ask Brazil.
- Yes, I criticize the government. Of just about every country :D. I am fighting for a world set free in our lifetime.
- I talk a lot about places trying to break away and gain their sovereignty - Bougainville, Catalonia, New Caledonia, West Papua, among others - and places where there are significant independence movements - Quebec, the Basque region, Scotland, Greenland.
- I think the U.S. territories should be granted statehood or sovereignty. I definitely don't think American Samoans should be denied citizenship. - I am never going to be for the annexation of another country.
- I am never going to be in favor of the death penalty, for many reasons.
- I'm #AlreadyAgainstTheNextWar.
- Poutine is the greatest food on the planet and I will die on that hill.
- You can disagree with any or all of that and we can still be friends.
- I'm a real person. I promise. I am happy to connect and converse with you and with anyone - so feel free to tell your friends, connect, ask questions, whatever.
Ask me anything.
The photo below was taken by me of a sunset in Calgary in late 2019.
Ok, this may be a dumb question but isn’t New Caledonia, as a French territory, part of France’s EU membership? Serious question.
Still rooting for a free Caledonia, by the way.

Opa, amanhã eu volto pra dar follow em mais um monte de vocês! Puta que pariu, curti pra caralho as nossas conversas. Amo vocês, porra!
So, yeah, this kinda did happen.
Flávio suffered a drop in blood pressure caused by food poisoning, turned visibly pale, and fainted live on stage.
Fellow candidate Jandira Feghali, who is a physician, immediately stepped in to assist him, though his father, Jair Bolsonaro, famously tried to stop her on stage. Flávio was helped off the stage by security and aides to recover.
I’m not certain that he pooped his pants, but it makes sense that he would given the reason for his fainting.
The elitism shown by Jair in that moment, however - not accepting a doctor’s help because she’s too far left - is par for the course.
10 years ago, @FlavioBolsonaro ran for mayor of Rio de Janeiro. In the debate, he passed out & shit his pants (yes, really). One of the candidates was a doctor & tried to help. His dad, Jair, yelled "communist, get your hands off my son!" & "01, did you turn yellow? Do pushups!"
Equally as valid as Flávio. Actually, probably more so. @lucena_silva1 is actually IN Brazil.
As usual, @LouisianaLp says it extremely well.
The Libertarian Party is founded on the idea that you should never initiate force or fraud against another. Inherent in this is the idea that consent must be clear, informed, and ongoing.
You cannot rightly consent if you're intoxicated, coerced, or too young.
While it's true that there are many who wish to remove government from every aspect of our lives, including the law, that does not mean people wish to allow murder, rape, theft, and other horrible violations of liberty.
That includes statutory rape and those who prey on the incapacitated - because consent must be clear, informed, and ongoing.
Under any just system - with or without a state, the vulnerable must be protected from predators who would do them harm.
I have heard a lot of you say that they don’t know why Bolsonaro is fleeing, or assuming it’s persecution.
It’s not persecution.
AMERICANS, DO YOU KNOW WHO DONALD TRUMP IS WELCOMING INTO YOUR COUNTRY?
I am a Brazilian journalist, and I have been closely following the criminal investigations involving Flávio Bolsonaro, the son of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro.
Reuters reported on October 27 that Flávio left Brazil for the United States after losing the presidential election, despite a Brazilian Supreme Court order requiring him to surrender his passports.
Now I have a question:
Will American taxpayers be forced to pay for the protection of a Brazilian politician facing serious criminal investigations?
Before anyone screams “political persecution,” here are the actual case numbers. You can look them up yourselves.
1. BANCO MASTER, DARK HORSE AND SUSPECTED MONEY LAUNDERING
Brazilian Supreme Court (STF)
Case: INQ 5,070
Full docket: 0181367-57.2026.1.00.0000
Related proceedings: PET 16,369 and INQ 5,026.
Federal investigators are examining suspected money laundering, corruption and illegal international financial transactions involving the financing of Dark Horse, a film about Jair Bolsonaro.
The investigation involves financial dealings with Daniel Vorcaro, the former controller of Banco Master.
2. SUSPECTED FINANCIAL LINKS TO THE PCC DRUG-TRAFFICKING ORGANIZATION
Brazilian Superior Electoral Court (TSE)
Case: AIJE 0603371-06.2026.6.00.0000
Filed October 23, 2026.
This electoral lawsuit questions whether millions of dollars transferred through companies and investment funds linked to the Dark Horse financing network indirectly benefited Flávio Bolsonaro’s presidential campaign.
One company involved in the financial transactions was also identified in investigations concerning suspected money laundering connected to the PCC (Primeiro Comando da Capital), one of Brazil’s largest criminal organizations.
The lawsuit seeks the annulment of Bolsonaro’s candidacy or election certification and an eight-year disqualification.
To be absolutely clear: the alleged connection between the money and the PCC is under investigation. It has not been judicially established that the PCC financed the film or his campaign.
3. WILLER TOMAZ AND ONLINE GAMBLING
A separate investigation before Brazil’s Supreme Court, overseen by Justice Alexandre de Moraes, examines suspected money laundering involving attorney Willer Tomaz, a close friend of Flávio Bolsonaro.
Investigators are examining financial transactions involving gambling companies, payment platforms and businesses connected to Tomaz.
The exact court docket number has not been publicly verified.
4. THE RACHADINHA CORRUPTION CASE
Rio de Janeiro State Court (TJ-RJ)
Case: 0072696-34.2020.8.19.0000
Prosecutors formally accused Flávio Bolsonaro of crimes including embezzlement, money laundering and participation in a criminal organization involving alleged diversion of public employees’ salaries.
The charges were dismissed in 2022 after evidence was ruled inadmissible.
There was no conviction, but there was also no trial determining whether the alleged conduct occurred.
5. RODRIGO BACELLAR AND COMANDO VERMELHO
Brazilian Supreme Court
Case: PET 14,959
Full docket: 0123047-48.2025.1.00.0000
Rodrigo Bacellar, a political ally of Flávio Bolsonaro, was arrested and later became a criminal defendant in proceedings concerning alleged obstruction of a police operation targeting Comando Vermelho, another major Brazilian drug-trafficking organization.
6. MÁRCIO CANELLA AND ORGANIZED CRIME
Electoral case: RO-El 0601451-66.2026.6.19.0000
Another political ally supported by Flávio Bolsonaro, Márcio Canella, was arrested during an investigation into suspected organized-crime-related money laundering involving fuel businesses.
Brazilian electoral prosecutors have also questioned his candidacy over alleged connections to militias and Comando Vermelho.
These are separate proceedings involving Bolsonaro’s allies, not criminal charges against Flávio himself. 🧵
Ainda estou trabalhando nisso. Muito obrigado pela sua paciência. Eu vou chegar lá, mas continuo me limitando a seguir de volta.
Decidi postar isso para que meus amigos brasileiros não tivessem que ler do próprio Flávio. Dessa forma, ele não fica com os olhos.
(American friends, I will translate below)
But really, this is just Daddy’s playbook.
Allegations of judicial bias and political persecution mirror similar narratives previously used by his father, Jair Bolsonaro, following the 2022 election.
