I strongly suspect most people complaining about the Sally Rooney situation would fully support the publisher if she was donating to far-right causes.
The sheer hypocrisy surrounding the Sally Rooney issue comes as no surprise. If this was a right-wing author supporting a right-wing agenda most of the same people would be screaming to have them cancelled. I write as someone not in favour of the ban.
