Well well! This needs critical analysis using femist theories, applying all gender lenses.. and anything else you can think of. 🤔 The reactions can form whole PHD study... 🤣

This country called Kenya even if you die doing good no one seems to care. Wait until you slip or make a single mistake. That's the day you realise people have been following your work waiting to attack you! We need to learn to celebrate our heroes!.I call them online attack 🐕

The current vitriol directed at Mercy Masika’s masterclass seems to forget a fundamental pillar of civic space: freedom of choice is not selective. Freedom of worship is a fundamental human right enshrined in the Kenyan Constitution, and while anyone can disagree with religious doctrines, that disagreement requires circumspection. You do not get to dictate how others choose to live their lives. Masika’s target audience is clear: women who practice Christianity and actively want to navigate a traditional Christian marriage. If you have liberated yourself from religion, that is your right, but aggressively attacking her for serving her specific demographic is counterproductive. Resorting to hostility risks derailing valid social critiques by reducing the discourse to a polarised "Christians versus heathens" debate. We can advocate for broader societal issues without infringing on others' personal and religious freedoms.

Women are calling out Mercy Masika for organising a “Becoming a Wife Masterclass,” arguing that she should have focused on femicide, gender-based violence, financial independence, and other pressing issues. Fair enough. These issues matter. But why aren’t the same women organising masterclasses, forums, campaigns, and initiatives on the very issues they insist Mercy should have addressed? Why must her platform become their preferred platform? Why must her calling become their calling? If femicide is your concern, organise a forum. If financial independence is your priority, teach financial literacy. If gender-based violence concerns you, mobilise resources and support survivors. You cannot spend your time criticising someone for doing something you consider unimportant while doing absolutely nothing about the things you consider important. Not every initiative must address every social problem to justify its existence. A woman can teach about marriage without claiming marriage is the ultimate measure of a woman’s worth. These issues are not mutually exclusive. And now that the event is reportedly fully booked and ready to proceed, what exactly are the critics hoping to achieve? Cancel an event because it doesn’t align with their personal priorities? You don’t have to agree with Mercy. You don’t have to attend her masterclass. You’re free to organise your own event that addresses the issues you consider more urgent. Wacheni ujinga!

There's a trick I see people use disingenuously during online discourse that I you urge to spot and not fall for Its when someone dismisses a legitimate concern by arguing that other, supposedly more serious problems deserve attention It's called the 'FALLACY OF RELATIVE PRIVATION' Say you raise a concern about potholes on a road you use often and you post about it. A random user will come and say that at a time when people are starving and there's no medicine in hospitals how dare you speak about potholes The reason why it's fallacious and most of the time not done in good faith is 1. The existence of a greater problem does not invalidate a lesser one 2. If only the most serious problem deserves attention, virtually every concern can be dismissed by identifying something worse. 3. Society can address multiple problems simultaneously. 4. It's often a veiled trick to shift from the merits of the argument to whether the issue even deserves to be discussed at all

Alas!!
Moment an American pastor and prophetess, who are both married, introduce a new wife to their congregation and announce that they are now in a polygynous marriage with a female church member, claiming it is the “will of God.” 😭🤦🏾‍♂️🙆🏾‍♂️

Why do we assume that a man by the virtue of being a politician he is an angel & does not support his social and gender norms! ... socailisation is king and we have no option but to sensitize & enlighten them. Inform then condemn.#MenEndFGM xitter.cf/TonyMwebia/status/1340…
While Somalia sinks under floods, starves from famine, and gets butchered by terrorists, the men in its parliament are busy arguing to keep mutilating little girls genitals. 😳🇸🇴

The biggest mistake we keep making is imagining that we can condem our way out of #FGM! On this one I can authoritatively state that we have no option but to actively sensitize & stop ignorance of men. Most men have no idea what the cut entail #MenEndFGM xitter.cf/TonyMwebia/status/1340…
