Trump has exempted 202 facilities in 39 states and Puerto Rico from clean-air regulations that were going into effect, including some of the worst industrial polluters. About 3.3 million people live near such a facility. @EricLiptonNYT @maxinejoselow nytimes.com/2026/10/24/clima…

This is what putting South Carolina first looks like. I’m honored to have the support of two former governors — Republican David Beasley and Democrat Jim Hodges. We may not agree on everything, but we share a belief that matters most: South Carolina deserves leaders who will always put its people first.

The Ramaswamy ad has pushed the largest newspaper in Ohio, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, to reverse its position on endorsements. "A candidate who uses childhood sexual abuse as a weapon against the person who endured it has crossed a line that Ohioans should defend, whatever their party.  We are better than this. We have a responsibility to show it. Today we endorse Democrat Amy Acton for governor." cleveland.com/open/2026/10/w…

"I get fired because I'm not a yes-man. The world's full of yes men. The first year that I became the Manager in 1969 with the Twins, I won a Division Championship. And got fired. The Tigers hired me. I had made $35,000 and the Tigers gave me a big raise. I won another Division Championship and got fired again. Then Texas hired me with a bigger raise. I came in second, and I got fired. The Yankees hired me, and tripled my salary. When I got fired there, Oakland hired me and gave me an unbelievable raise. I've got a long-term contract now, but if I get fired again, I might run for President." Billy Martin.

Breaking: Donald Trump was "an active participant in Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse of young women in the mid-to-late 1990s,” according to a report issued today by Dems on the House Judiciary Committee. The report includes one new rape allegation against Trump, and calls for a special investigation of the Trump administration's cover-up of Epstein's crimes.

"What do Michael Jackson and Steve Sax have in common? They each wear a glove on one hand for no apparent reason." Johnny Carson. Dodgers Pedro Guerrero committed several hard-to-believe fielding errors during one game. At the same time Dodgers' 2nd baseman Steve Sax was undergoing his horrendous fielding slump in which he couldn't throw the most routine ball to first without trouble. Tommy Lasorda decided it was time for one of his famous motivational meetings and zeroed in on Pedro Guerrero: "How can you play third base like that? You've gotta be thinking about something besides baseball. What is it?" "Two things," Guerrero said. "What's the first thing?" "God, don't let them hit the ball to me." "And what's the other thing?" Lasorda said. "I'm thinking: "Don't hit it to Saxxy either."

After Elon Musk posted on X saying he had throttled Ukraine’s use of Starlink after it was used for offensive attacks, House Armed Services Committee member Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO) says the billionaire’s ability to wield that power is “beyond disturbing to me.” “It cannot and should not be the case that a tech oligarch, a private citizen, who has that much control over our national security, who is unaccountable, who is unelected, with zero transparency, is making life and death decisions on the battlefield in systems that our service members and our partners and allies rely upon,” he adds.

.@GovofCO needs to be investigated for commuting her sentence.
Colorado Attorney General Philip Weiser says Tina Peters views herself as a political celebrity and is “cashing in” on her case by calling herself a political prisoner, visiting the White House and saying she'll continue to fight what she calls “crooked elections.” “This is a scary part of the moment we're living in,” says Weiser. Peters served nearly two years behind bars for crimes related to breaching voting system security. She maintains she was trying to show flaws in the system. 60 Minutes reports, Sunday.

“They’re going to want territory they haven’t even conquered yet because, frankly, they suck,” says @RepDanCrenshaw about Russia’s demands for ending its war with Ukraine. Rep. Crenshaw just returned from a trip to Kyiv and took issue with Elon Musk’s comments on Ukraine’s use of Starlink satellites on the battlefield.
