Plenty of labels would disagree HARD with the idea that an album is necessary to solidify impact or superstardom. But it's the truth. Albums are important pieces of art that require patience, attention, and respect. Unfortunately, too many people lack all three nowadays.

Also, generally speaking, artists are very exhausted! No one's interested in putting in the time and effort to release a project just for some 15 year old on Twitter to say "Normani album is trash she made us wait all this time for this shit" 5 minutes after the album is out

Love this. I think the lack of an album speaks more to the state of the industry than her priorities as an artist. People generally don't listen to albums unless they are already part of an artist's core fanbase. As you know, labels right now are focusing heavyyy on other things.
