As a devout Catholic, I’m encouraged by the U.S. bishops’ creation of the Task Force on Preserving Human Dignity in the Age of Artificial Intelligence. Pope Leo XIV has been a tremendous leader on this issue and has reaffirmed my faith in humanity. youtube.com/watch?v=lNPY1OCp…

Going public forces Anthropic to provide financial and incident disclosures, which can improve industry practices and give ordinary investors clearer information. Transparency and incident reporting create a public record of problems, which can drive better practices faster than self-regulation.
Anthropic is headed for the public market in what is expected to be a historic offering for a 5-year-old company that’s been at the heart of the generative artificial intelligence boom. Read more: cnb.cx/4iDsSN3

Sustained investment usually drives progress in technology, resulting in stronger research, better models, and lower costs over time. But investing in AI doesn’t automatically create value. Companies need to measure results, understand costs, and manage risks.
Nvidia has said it will invest $3 billion in Meta after the social media and AI giant announced plans to raise $95 billion to support its investments in artificial intelligence infrastructure. Meta on Monday said it would initially raise $35 billion in underwritten public equity offerings, before raising an additional $60 billion with an at-the-market program. Read more: cnb.cx/3Ui9Lim

The next major cybersecurity failure may not begin with a sophisticated attack. It may begin with an ordinary business application that has more access than it needs. We need confidence that organizations can protect information and remain accountable when something goes wrong.
EXCLUSIVE: In less than 12 hours, a group of ex-DOGE cyber researchers were able to penetrate Anthropic’s systems using AI agents — including Slack channels where the most sensitive models are discussed. This is just weeks after Anthropic whistleblower Joseph Coxon charged the company w/launching “a hubristic gamble” from a “private company’s Slack.” Read our story here (gift link): wapo.st/4smNlsC

Thank you @NewsNation and @lauraingle for having me to discuss a recent @axios report about rogue AI agents accessing bank accounts without authorization, the associated safety and security risks, and what needs to happen next.

Jesus reminds us that the heart of our faith is love — love for God and love for one another. These two commandments go hand in hand. How can we show our love for God through the way we treat others today?

You know it’s a 'bonkers' week when @TrackerPayton joins @GoodMorningBT 2x. Rogue AI agents making banking decisions. AI-political ads. Website "security" certificates. Sometimes 'things go haywire in digital land.' Sometimes=this week. TP breaks it all down. Links 🔗 in 🧵

PHP security risks remain high and PHP mitigation requires immediate attention. Our guidance is further supported by additional agencies including @CISACyber, @NCSC, @ASDGovAu, and CERT-EU. If you have not reviewed your exposure and applied mitigations, now is the time. Please read the linked resources, follow requisite vendor guidance, assess your environment, and implement mitigations without delay. nsa.gov/Press-Room/Press-Rel…

The FBI continues to warn about two critical security flaws in PHP, a programming language used to build many websites and online services. Attackers could exploit these vulnerabilities to break into systems, putting sensitive information and business operations at risk. Security updates are available and should be applied immediately. If you are a business owner or website operator, check whether your systems are affected. Contact your IT support team, website developer, or hosting provider for help identifying vulnerable systems and applying the necessary updates. The FBI urges organizations to take the following steps now: ➡️ If an immediate update is not feasible it is recommended that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated. ➡️ Immediately update affected PHP installations following the guidance on php.net. Inventory where PHP runs in your environment, prioritizing internet-facing systems and vendor products that bundle PHP. ➡️ Monitor web servers for suspicious activity, including PHP processes unexpectedly launching command shells or downloading files. Ensure appropriate process-monitoring capabilities are in place to help identify potential exploitation. ➡️ If you find signs of compromise, isolate affected systems, preserve your web server and PHP logs, and report it to your local FBI field office or ic3.gov. Those reports help us identify the actors involved and warn other organizations before they become victims. For the latest information on these vulnerabilities (CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619), follow PHP’s announcements on php.net, CERT-EU Security Advisory 2026-018, and CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog.

Banks deserve some grace here. They’ve spent years perfecting seamless digital experiences while heavily securing the human side of banking. But the sudden rise of autonomous AI agents acting for customers was a variable few 2026 roadmaps could have anticipated.
NEW: America's largest banks are working to prevent AI worst-case scenarios. But they're also preparing for the "day after" a catastrophe, Axios has learned. axios.com/2026/10/23/ai-cata…

Production for any AI Agents that access healthcare information or banking information should stop until every agent is deployed with a named human authorizer, time-bound credentials, least-privilege access, a full action log, and runtime enforcement capable of halting the agent mid-task.
SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents operating inside customer accounts, with some agents attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions. axios.com/2026/10/22/ai-agen…

The biggest risks I see with AI are fraud, privacy, accuracy, cybersecurity, and overreliance. I’m optimistic about AI, but I love humanity more than technology. We need governance and guardrails to harness this technology.
as bad as things have gotten in the past 4 days, they are going to get a lot worse before they get better. security leaders, never let a crisis go to waste: please go to your boards and ask for help right now. not for ai, for the basics. (we need to hold on for ~18 months.)
