💯 i use a glorified chatgpt variant at work to write simple scripts to help me parse shit, or feed it long user manual pdfs so i can ask questions about tedious board bringup / phy reg stuff. it makes that stuff faster & easier for sure. but AI isn’t the 2nd coming of christ
please stop reading this thinking i’m advocating for AI usage in the workplace. i think it’s horseshit 90% of the time.
i just wanna make it known that i was a huge Nathan Fielder fan BEFORE season 2 of The Rehearsal, let alone this new documentary 😜
network engineer interviews be like “you need to have expert level knowledge & experience working with BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, 4 major vendors, & route redistribution in production” …& then the job is just answering the same easy customer ticket over & over forever

the grace hopper conference was cancelled this year due to low turnout / financials & i am not surprised at all
ive never been myself, but i have heard from MANY past women attendees that it’s been steadily being overrun by men over the years & quality has gone way down
ohhhh boy let’s just say having a reactive dog that was never fully socialized properly is definitely a new technical challenge
it’s spider season in seattle, which means it’s time for me to abduct a bunch of juvenile orb weavers & rehome them in my garden
ok so i’m learning the experience is quite different for various folks. it has always seemed like a dumpster of fakery to me but as a creator there are sooo many businesses that want to pay to promote stuff on there. so there’s gotta be someone paying attention ??
