Ultimately, no party particularly likes railways. The railways are, however, great as a useful political football. Politicians, of all parties, talk about going green etc while looking at ways to cut rail funding. Talk is cheap.

And you don't think trains have "traffic" like conditions? U don't think trains have signals ? Trains run with each other when one gets a delay the one behind will likely too We have mixed traffic railway that runs stopper , express , long distance and freight on the same tracks.

It was nice to feel the stranded train protocol activated tonight following a police incident down in Nuneaton, fortunately the toilet was working and the air conditioning too. So as far as my passengers and I were concerned police can take their time to deal with the incident.
