Replying to @PatrickTBowen
@PatrickTBowen sees an opening the rest of the industry has missed: prefill, not decode, as the place optical compute wins first. That's the bet behind @neurophos . New episode of The Compute 100.
Today's episode is with @PatrickTBowen, CEO of @neurophos. We're thrilled to have him join us for a discussion about his journey from metamaterials to optical computing. Give it a listen!

Frontier MoE models need massive scale-up clusters, but copper maxes out around 144 GPUs. Expanding to 512+ GPU pods usually requires 130K+ optical fibers, a challenge for costs, supply chains, and reliability.
Bidirectional (BiDi) optics change the game by combining transmit and receive on a single fiber using two wavelengths:
⚡ 50% fewer cables & connectors
⚡ ~15% lower network spend
⚡ 50% fewer passive optical failure points
⚡ Zero compromise on bandwidth or reach
As AI demands larger scale-up domains, BiDi is the path forward and Lightmatter has built it directly into its interconnect portfolio. Read our full analysis: lightmatter.co/resource/one-…

What if a robot could take a goal and determine how to achieve it?
Today, we’re introducing Auto-Engineering on GRID.
Robotics has more models, simulators, and hardware than ever. Turning them into working deployments still takes specialized engineering.
For two years, we’ve been building that robotics know-how into unified intelligence GRID - spanning robots, skills, models, and proven approaches.
Auto-Engineering puts it to work by completely automating how robot intelligence is built, tested, and deployed.

Sam Altman just reached the same conclusion Nick Harris did a decade earlier during his @MIT post-doc: light, not electronics, is computing's next leap.
Nick founded Lightmatter in 2017 to build it. By April 2025, Nature published proof: the first photonic AI processor running ResNet, BERT, and Atari like DeepMind.

Deleting user data is easy. Proving you deleted it is the hard part so I built Lethe on @truefoundry 's open-source agent harness TrueForge - an AI agent that runs GDPR erasure end to end and hands you a signed certificate, not a claim.
I thank @kunalstwt 's appreciation for this and @WeMakeDevs for organizing this and late due to multiple testing's from my ends to make it very perfect.

Deletion is easy. Proof is hard. Lethe does both - an agent on TrueForge that runs GDPR erasure end to end and hands back a signed certificate. Compliance-grade agents are exactly where this goes next 🔥 . Thanks @Abhay_Rajput007 for building this!
