being a sexless virgin is aristocratic in a world full of cattle chasing hookups and meaningless sex
If the Bible is supposed to be the sole infallible rule of faith, why is it not written like a systematic theology textbook or a catechism?
Catholicism is the only Biblical form of Christianity - all others put doctrines of men over doctrines of God
Case in point for why the masses shouldn't be allowed to exegete scripture
Patty continues to prove he doesnt understand Scripture.
πβ[17] For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.β
1 Corinthians 1:17 KJV
Paul differentiates the Gospel from being Baptized. I trust Paul, not your silly cult.
Purgatory, properly understood, is a belief most Protestants hold to, even if they don't realize it.
This thread shows that the masses should not be allowed to exegete scripture on their own
Something as self-evidently sinful as gooning becomes a point of contention because "scripture doesn't explicitly forbid it".
No higher order thinking, no theology of the body.
Protestants be like "here's why that verse doesn't actually mean what it plainly says"
Not surprising coming from a guy who thinks God is a wafer. Clearly you dont understand the verse, but why not post the actual verse so people can see exactly why you're clueless?
βThe like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: β
1 Peter 3:21 KJV
See that second part in parenthesis? You know, these ( ) things, that means that its not the water that does anything, its the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, aka being Born Again.
So yes, the act of Baptism is symbolic it is an outward expression of a change that has already occurred inwardly. A profession of faith.
πβJohn answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire: β
Luke 3:16 KJV
πβA new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. β
Ezekiel 36:26-27 KJV
The final nail in the coffin:
πβFor John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.β
Acts 1:5 KJV
The clear separation between the act of water baptism and Baptism with the Holy Spirit.
When will you give up the grift and admit you know nothing of Scripture? All you do is post slop memes and deter people from Christ. Repent, and turn to Christ.
Protestants seem to only look forward to Heaven but not to the resurrection.
This is because most Protestants are secretly gnostic.
Jesus never authorized the use of grape juice
"Do this in remembrance of me"
And you're not even doing the "this" right
If we have leniency for grape juice, there is no argument against using a grape energy drink and a donut for the elements (this really happened, during Covid).
If we do not abide by the prescribed forms, we make a mockery of the Lord's supper, even if it's inadvertent.
If you mock or belittle other Christians for the manner in which they receive the wine (or juice) and the bread, you are treating the material form as more important than the work of Christ.
Christ is truly received by faith through the Spirit, not by the physical properties of the elements. They do not validate communion by their alcohol content or packaging.
Honor Christ. Donβt think yourself better than others just because they do things differently.
