This week’s #IPCC report made clear that the fossil fuel era is over ❌🔥🌍
Along with @UKDivest, we are calling on the UK’s councils, pension funds and financial institutions to #DivestfromCrisis and #InvestinourFuture.
A lil' late in posting, but here is our New Year pick ♻️🎄🚮💚
Disposable vapes are definitely an increasing issue!
2xlitter and 1xrecycling collected (our first bag of separated #recycing being collected by the council - #progress)
#SustainablePeterborough 💚🌱
An inpromptu pick at lunch time today resulted in 5 bags of litter and 1 of recycling.
Drains are definitely an issue this time of year, something @PeterboroughCC and @AnglianWater should be addressing.

We are deeply saddened by the felling of the Bretton Oak Tree. Our councillors have continually supported the residents & campaigners. Our hearts go out to all those who have fought for the tree. We have become part of an amazing community of people. #StopTheChop #BrettonOakTree
Why it is so important that we divest from fossil fuels!

Baking in our commitment to them; risking our future environment if we do not act fast enough; risking the stranded assets they will become when they realise we have to act!

📢We’ve united with over 40 community-led activist groups to ask SPM Group (@spmggroup), the owners & managers of the British LGBT Awards (@BritLGBTAwards), to drop @Macquarie as co-headline sponsor of this year’s British LGBT Awards. There are several reasons for this, 🧵. (1/)
Thank you to all that turned up to todays #GrowingCommunities event. IF you want to know more, get in touch.

Just 20 companies are responsible for 1/3 of global emissions 🤯
This AGM season your pension can play a critical role in cutting these emissions. By voting in favour of key resolutions the industry can back their climate commitments with real action ✊

Success! @FossilFreeWYPF asked @WYPF_LGPS IAP cllrs to uphold their council policies to divest at the April mtg: 4 of them did. WYPF plans 2 reduce exposure 2 equities: pressure is building to sell fossil fuel shares (ie partial divestment). Officers will address this b4 next IAP
With local elections next week it’s important that all those standing to represent your area share your concerns and will take climate action seriously.
@cambspborocac have created some questions to get you started when candidates come knocking.
