A father’s dedication to the railways inspired a daughter’s journey at Transnet. For Beatrice Januarie, Transnet has always represented opportunity, purpose, and pride. Her father began his career with Spoornet in December 1965, contributing to railway safety, freight handling and distribution, asset protection, and operational maintenance. Through the years, he often spoke about Transnet as a great company to work for, sharing stories of dedication, growth, and service. Those words stayed with Beatrice. As she navigated the early stages of her own career, she remembered her father's advice and the pride he took in his work. Inspired by his journey, she chose to join Transnet and today, as an Accounts Payable professional in Finance at TNPA, she is proudly building a legacy of her own. Your connection to the ocean may be closer than you think. From the goods we use everyday to the products South Africa exports to the world, maritime transport keeps global trade moving. In fact, more than 80% of global trade is carried by sea. As we commemorate World Maritime Day this week, @TransnetNPA (TNPA) celebrates the people, ports, policies and partnerships that play a vital role in shaping our maritime sector. When maritime moves, economies move.
