September holds a special place in The Federation's history.
It was September 1983 when design work on this organization began — shaped with the direct involvement of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry. Nine months later, on June 1, 1984, The Federation officially opened its doors. The date was not a coincidence. It was opening night of Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.
From that moment, The Federation has carried a simple but demanding mission: to help the bright future seen in Star Trek — a world free of hatred, hunger, bigotry, and greed — become a reality today, for real people facing real hardship.
For more than 40 years, an all-volunteer global network of chapters has been doing exactly that. No salaries. No shortcuts. Just people who believe the future Gene Roddenberry imagined is worth working toward, one act of service at a time.
We are still here. Still working. And September still means something.
If The Federation's mission speaks to you, visit us at trekfederation.com to learn how to get involved or support the work.
Live long and prosper.
