I still maintain this is the greatest pitch ever thrown. And I don’t know why it mattered. But it did. I tear up every time I see it.
- In a packed stadium.
- One of the biggest stages in sports
- With a bulletproof vest on.
- From sixty feet six inches.
- At a time America needed a strike
Dubya delivered one of the best first pitches EVER.

99% of entrepreneurs shouldn’t raise venture capital.
- It limits exit opportunities
- It puts a timeline on the business
- It requires a 5x greater exit to make the same founder money
- Most markets aren’t winner take all
Time spent raising money is better spent with customers

Make $10mm. Crickets.
Raise $10mm. Everyone writes about you. You get invited to all the hot events. Your network goes crazy with congratulations.
This is how we get a culture that trains founders to raise $$ > make $$.
