U.S. steel prices just hit their highest level in more than four years, per Bloomberg.
Benchmark hot-rolled coil has jumped 52% over the past year to $1,255 a ton, a level last seen in May 2022.
The reason: Trumpβs tariffs are squeezing foreign supply. Steel imports fell 14% in the first nine months of 2026.
