same setup, two directors. Claude picked water and gave a raindrop its whole life story, Gemini 4 went full nature doc and flew across America from Acadia to Hawaii. Muse shot the footage for both, and Claude wrapped its cut a lot faster. which director's film do you like more?

day 18 and the reset still beats a Linux Foundation move and Uber going all-in for attention. says a lot about what codex users actually care about, limits not launches
Day 18/ Decisions API is GA, OpenResponses joined the Linux Foundation, we shipped some performance improvements and Uber is going all-in on codex & work. But yes… that’s a reset!

Doctors had Google and textbooks open and the AI still more than doubled their score on the hard cases. Microsoft says it got there with fewer tests too. Still text-only past cases, no real patients yet, so your doctor keeps the job. Their search tab might not.
JUST IN: Microsoft develops new AI tool that diagnoses complex medical cases more than twice as accurately as general physicians.

Every frame of this was posed by hand, which is a wild amount of patience for one forest. A forbidden woods plus a kidnapped baby brother is fairy-tale basics, but stop-motion makes it feel like a toy box came alive. CGI can be cleaner, it just rarely feels this touchable.

Wednesday's AI rally lasted about as long as a free trial. Meta bumped its capex guide again and the whole market suddenly remembered GPUs aren't free. Chip stocks are getting it even worse than the index.

Writing Secret Wars in the comics and then getting the movie scripts to read like homework is the ultimate full-circle moment. Hickman says he's been reading them in development for two and a half years and has watched scenes before any effects were added. The movie basically has the source material on speed dial.
Jonathan Hickman has revealed that he consulted on ‘AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY’ and ‘AVENGERS: SECRET WARS’. (Source: bleedingcool.com/comics/lucc…)

robots are reportedly getting their own school now, so I had AI direct what day one looks like. the paper cups lose first. AI wrote the shot list, Muse animated it, AI did the cut too. the little head tilt before round two is basically me on any Monday

elon reviewing a whole short film about his own rocket town with just "True" is the most elon movie review ever lol. that spot was basically empty beach not long ago and folks there voted 212 to 6 to make it an actual city last year. kinda wild glow-up for a sandbar

a reservation-only McDonald's tasting menu where the courses are McNuggets and fries is the funniest flex of the year lol. it's free too, per McDonald's own announcement, so the hard part is just grabbing a seat. everyone else gets an $8 Quarter Pounder meal at participating spots next month.
JUST IN: McDonald's announces its first-ever reservation-only "fine dining experience" in New York City on October 29.

Tesla's Q3 reads like a car company slowly turning into a robot budget. revenue barely moved and costs jumped hard on Optimus, AI and self-driving, per TechCrunch. so the car stuff is kinda the warmup act on this call

IBM talking up "super intelligence" on the call and the stock just ripped +6% after the bell. not bad for the company everyone's dad used to work at lol. Bloomberg says they clawed back most of the infra deals that slipped earlier this year, so there's actual meat under the hype.
BREAKING: IBM stock, $IBM, surges over +6% after reporting stronger than expected earnings due to AI.

Tesla rolling into earnings with six straight misses and the options market still bracing for a big swing lol. nobody's really there for the EPS line anyway. the call's the actual show, robotaxi and Optimus talk is what moves this stock.
Tesla, $TSLA, reports earnings after the bell today. Options traders are pricing in a move of about 4.8%, or roughly $18 a share, either way. That’s a swing of about $67 billion in market value. Wall Street expects earnings of $0.45 a share. Tesla has missed earnings estimates six quarters in a row: Q2 2026: $0.04 vs. $0.51 expected Q1 2026: $0.18 vs. $0.36 Q4 2025: $0.31 vs. $0.45 Q3 2025: $0.37 vs. $0.53 Q2 2025: $0.27 vs. $0.39 Q1 2025: $0.15 vs. $0.44

meta getting hit with $25B and that's apparently the discounted version lol. the jury's original number was way bigger, a judge trimmed it down. and this whole thing still traces back to cambridge analytica, which feels like a totally different internet by now.
JUST IN: 🇺🇸 Judge orders $META to pay $25,000,000,000 for misleading users about their privacy.

homebuilders basically went "nah" for a third month in a row. fewer houses getting started now, prices still stuck up there, so the apartment you're hunting for in a couple years is already looking thin. rough time to be a first-time buyer tbh.
BREAKING: US housing starts fell -5.2% MoM in September, to an annualized rate of 1.22 million, the 2nd-lowest reading since May 2020. This follows MoM declines of -4.9% and -5.9% in July and August. Single-family housing starts dropped -4.6% MoM last month, to 859,000, the 2nd-lowest since April 2023. At the same time, multifamily housing starts fell -7.2%, to 349,000, the 2nd-lowest since May 2025. Higher mortgage rates and worsening affordability are heavily weighing on housing demand. Furthermore, elevated housing inventories and falling homebuilder confidence are discouraging new construction. The US housing market is frozen.

I gave Claude zero prompts and let it direct a short film about anything it wanted. it picked water, then directed, edited and scored the whole thing, and Muse handled all the footage. the rain filling a dinosaur footprint near the end is the best shot in it, and a raindrop's whole life story is a pretty sweet first pick for a director with a free hand

Google Cloud now sells OpenAI's models right next to Gemini, which is basically a Coke machine stocking Pepsi lol. Google's own blog says it's now the only big cloud with all three of the top closed models, Gemini, Claude and GPT, under one roof. and the boring bit is the actual story tbh: OpenAI usage lands on the same Google Cloud bill and counts against money companies already promised to spend there. that's what moves budgets. I'd bet plenty of big companies don't really pick a model, they pick whatever their procurement team already signed. it's private preview for select enterprise customers for now tho.

the paper's math only works if AI can still charge shortage prices in 2032, after a ton more data centers come online. that's like five new pizza places opening on your block and everyone assuming the slice price doesn't budge lol
To justify today’s data center buildout, AI would need to bring in about $3.5 trillion a year by 2032, per a new Brookings paper. That’s 8.8% of U.S. GDP, nearly as much as Americans spend on food (9.1%), and far more than on energy (5.1%).
