A phone app is fine for watching a position on the commute. It's a weak primary tool for charting or execution. The simplicity that makes an app easy to use also hides the detail you need. Use it for alerts, not for the real work. Link in reply.

Your trade journal is the most important record you will ever keep. Log every entry, every reason, every mistake with a timestamp. Most traders keep no record at all, then wonder why they repeat the same losses. Memory flatters you. The log does not.
Fed funds futures price a 90% chance of a hold Wednesday. Bank of America expects a quarter point hike. Write your plan for both outcomes before the decision. Traders who plan only for the consensus get run over when the minority call lands. Details in link.

Corn futures set a daily volume record of 1, 206, 376 contracts on Oct 9, topping the March 2019 mark. A surprise USDA report pushed traders to reposition fast. If you can't name your exit before the open, skip the headline trade. Link below.

Know the rules before you size up your account. Make four day trades inside five market days in a margin account and the $25, 000 PDT rule kicks in. Plenty of traders learn that the hard way. Build your plan around the rules, not in spite of them.

Signals are only as good as the trader who decides what to do with them. A pick list tells you what to look at. It doesn't tell you when to get in, how big to size, or when to get out. Build that part yourself.

CME's July and September volumes were both all, time highs, at 27 million and 31.8 million a day. Crowded tape means thinner edges per trade. Size for the market you have, not the one on the headlines. Link below.

Weekend sessions now account for nearly 20% of CME's one ounce gold futures volume. If your risk plan stops at Friday's close, your stops have a hole in them.

Fund managers cut S&P 500 futures longs by 18, 079 contracts in the week ending October 20, to 894, 464. Still a heavy long book going into the Fed meeting. Check your stops before the 27 and 28 October decision. Link below.

Free research tools can tell you what a stock has done. They can't tell you what you'll do when it moves against you. Plenty of traders have Yahoo Finance, FinViz and TradingView open all day and still lose money. The data was never the missing piece.

CME shelved 24/7 oil futures after clients shunned weekend desks, CEO Duffy said. Session hours are a hard limit on your execution. Trade the hours you can actually manage, even if the exchange keeps selling the rest.

Ten minutes reading a company's earnings will tell you more than an hour staring at a candle. Know what you own, who runs it, and whether the numbers back up the move. Price shows you the crowd. The financials show you the reason.

Seasonality is a filter, not a strategy. September has a reputation for a reason, but a calendar will never tell you where your stop belongs. Size the position to the risk first, then let the month break the tie.
