HR at an institution of higher learning that I previously worked for would routinely fail job searches for advisor positions because they (and their system) didn’t understand what some of the words in the preferred qualifications actually meant.
Same HR that denied me a raise approved by my boss and my boss’s boss because they claimed I didn’t have the requisite experience. Turned out they only evaluated job titles on CVs to determine experience and basically ignored everything else on the CV.
