If you’re a new Democratic US Representative or Senator you have an immediate job:
Get your constituent services up and running. There are a ton of you in deep red territory and that’s the only way to survive 2028. You entrench yourself as deep into your community as possible

every step of the way, bernie drove substantive stakes into the ground. he demanded changes in the 2016 platform. forced concessions through the 2020 task forces. he is never satisfied and he does not rest. and, most importantly, he’s right and he’s been right for a long time.
Bernie Sanders lost the fight in 2016. A decade later, he won the war. politi.co/4ekGIS5

AIPAC corruption story: its Democratic Majority for Israel admits I was leading in #CA48 by 10 pts until it bought the election for my opponent.
This is how Haley Stevens & John Fettermans are born. Congrats to Israeli lobby’s favorite new member of Congress Marni von Wilpert.

⚡️ Republican Rep. Mario Díaz-Balart, a Cuba hardliner and staunch supporter of Israel and U.S. military aid to Israel, holds a narrow lead over Democrat Nicole Locklin in Florida’s 26th Congressional District with the race still to close to call.
Díaz-Balart has served in Congress since 2003. Locklin has made his support for Israel and U.S. funding of the genocide in Gaza a central campaign issue. She calls Israel’s assault on Gaza a genocide and supports an immediate arms embargo.
Unofficial results show Díaz-Balart leading by fewer than 1,800 votes. More from Grim in the tweet below. An excerpt of her interview with BP two weeks ago where Locklin discussed what she learned by traveling the world alone is attached ⬇️

I'm so tired of pundits saying that wins in TX, MS, GA, SC, NC are "shocking." It's NOT shocking. Most of those states used to be "blue" before DNC abandoned the 50-state strategy in 2005 and defunded more than a dozen state parties and shuttered 1600 offies nationwide, to focus on wealthy "donor heavy" areas.
In 2024 alone the Dem part left 65% of seats uncontested up and down the ballot. Only one name on the ballot, from local races, state house races, all the way up to Federal.
These weren't "red states," these were states where people had no choice on the ballot. Even then, Dems would work against progressives who attempted to run in those states. Remember how they co-opted Stacey Abrams in Georgia, only to throw her under the bus later and kill the movement in 2020?
