Faisal Roble is right to draw the line: Moyale is NOT Jina'sane.
After 36 years of state-sanctioned border redrawing, demographic shifts, and systematic encroachment, Somalis across #DDS are rejecting further territorial erosion under the guise of administration.

One small step towards sovereignty as a country.
Despite the political chaos, it’s an achievement.
I give credit where it is due.
Congratulations #Somalia 🇸🇴
Statement attributable to the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General on the conclusion of the mandate of the United Nations Transitional Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNTMIS)
On 31 October, the United Nations Transitional Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNTMIS) will complete its two-year transition and cease operations, pursuant to Security Council resolutions 2753 (2024) and 2809 (2025) and in line with the request of the Federal Government of Somalia. This milestone brings to a close more than three decades of United Nations missions in support of peacebuilding, state-building, governance and reconciliation in Somalia. In accordance with the transition roadmap jointly agreed between the Federal Government of Somalia and the United Nations, the mandated functions of UNTMIS have been transferred to Somali institutions and United Nations agencies, funds and programmes, reflecting Somalia's commitment to greater national ownership of its peacebuilding and state-building agenda.
The Secretary-General commends the progress achieved over the past decades towards building peace and security in Somalia. He commends the determination and resilience of the Somali people despite the many challenges they face, and acknowledges the tremendous efforts made on the country’s journey from conflict to recovery. The United Nations will continue to support Somalia through its resident agencies, funds and programmes, working in partnership with Somali authorities, the African Union and other international partners to advance peace, stability, human rights and sustainable development.
Recognizing the significant political, security, humanitarian and development challenges that remain, the Secretary-General calls for sustained international support to consolidate progress, advance inclusive political dialogue and reconciliation, strengthen institutions, and promote and protect human rights. He also underscores the importance of continued support to address the threat posed by Al-Shabaab and enable a gradual and sustainable security transition.
The Secretary-General expresses his profound gratitude to his successive Special Representatives, all national and international personnel of UNTMIS and its predecessor missions, and to all those who have served for their dedication to advancing peace and state-building efforts, often under exceptionally difficult conditions. The Secretary-General also pays special tribute to those United Nations personnel who lost their lives in the service of peace in Somalia.
The Secretary-General reaffirms the enduring commitment of the United Nations to the people of Somalia and to supporting Somali-led efforts to build a peaceful, stable and prosperous future.

🇪🇹 Ethiopia War Update 55
📍 Moyale Clashes Spread to East Borana. After deadly fighting yesterday, Moyale experienced a brief calm as Somali regional forces reportedly took control of parts of the town and raised their flag. Reports now indicate that heavy clashes with Oromia forces have shifted toward East Borana Zone. The violence has reportedly caused multiple deaths and injured 20 civilians, while banking, transport and schools remain disrupted.
📍 40,000 Flee to Kenya. Nearly 40,000 people have reportedly crossed into Kenya to escape the violence. Thousands are sheltering in schools and churches as Kenyan human rights officials and UNHCR call for urgent humanitarian assistance, including support from the IOM.
📍 Kenyan MPs Urge Ruto to Intervene. Northern Kenyan lawmakers, including Dido Ali Rasso and Guyo Waqo Jaldesa, have urged President William Ruto to pursue urgent diplomatic intervention over the escalating border conflict.
📍 Tigrayan forces reportedly attacked Ethiopian federal troops advancing from Shire toward the Adiabo district, which is on the border with Eritrea (See map). Fighting has been reported around Adi Kelete and Doguali villages in that district and Tigrayan fighters announced today that their ambush caused many casualties and forced the army to retreat.
📍 Former Ethiopian Ambassadors Challenge US Position. Seven former Ethiopian ambassadors including former Ethiopian Foreign Minister Gedu Andargachew have written to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, criticising his recent remarks as oversimplifying Ethiopia’s complex situation. They called for a balanced and neutral US approach to supporting peace.

#Shocked…Ever since the recent events in Moyale, it’s wild seeing how many online accounts that used to posture or claim a Somali identity for political leverage have suddenly gotten completely exposed.
It turns out all those accounts debating regional politics and pushing specific narratives specifically the Gonigosad agenda weren't even Somali to begin with or the tribes they claim, just Oromo masquerading behind fake identities to manipulate online discourse.
The internet really lets anyone play a character until real world events happen and force them to drop the act. Crazy times. Somali waa laa dhex fadhiya 🤣

Invidiuals like him whose known to finance ethnic fuelled attacks against Somali people in Kenya will be investigation and other Borana leaders who are actively fundraising for what they see as their number one enemies Somali people.
They are those who waged constant ethnic attacks against our people in Marsabit and many other counties and today called for my Somali people to be ethnically cleansed from Moyale Somali region. Such warlords will not roam free and I am sure @DCI_Kenya and other security services will look into them.
🇪🇹🌳 The Oromummaa terrorists from the failed state of #Ethiopia colonial project which is currently invading Somalia. This will cause the biggest wars in Africa.
Kenyan security and judicial institutions must rein in individuals inciting and exacerbating communal conflict in southern Ethiopia.
Following the latest outbreak of fighting between the Borana and Gari clans, some Kenyan political and media figures have been circulating extremely dangerous messages, in some cases more inflammatory than those coming from individuals directly involved in the conflict on the Ethiopian side. They have also reportedly engaged in fundraising campaigns to procure and send weapons to the warring parties.
Kenya is already feeling the effects of the violence, with thousands of people fleeing across the border in search of humanitarian protection. Unless such incitement is contained, it will not only intensify the conflict inside Ethiopia but also risk spilling over into Kenya, where members of the affected communities live on both sides of the border, including in Nairobi.
I therefore appeal to Kenyan security agencies to investigate those inciting violence and the relevant judicial authorities to prosecute offenders in accordance with the law before the situation escalates and causes even greater harm to both countries.
