A few days ago, the University of Amsterdam (Universiteit van Amsterdam) announced that Karolina Drożdż won the Main Prize for the best Master's thesis of 2026! Her research on whether large language models (LLMs) truly understand what they read proved to be the best—out of all departments at the University of Amsterdam. As one of the top universities in Europe, it has consistently ranked among the world's top 100 institutions for years. Karolina has returned to Poland to continue her career here. She will be working at the IDEAS Research Institute under the supervision of Marcin Moskalewicz. This is a beautiful story of a woman who, having achieved such tremendous success and having the opportunity to work anywhere in the world, chose to return to her home country. Congratulations!

Video: The arrival of the delegation of Italian government officials and business leaders at Entebbe International Airport this afternoon.
At the first Uganda-Italy Business and Investment Forum in Rome last month, the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister @R_Nabbanja said in her keynote address that the success of the meeting would not be measured by speeches, but by the agreements and investments it produces. This afternoon, a delegation of Italian government and business leaders arrived in Kampala to explore investment opportunities presented by the Ugandan delegation at last month’s forum. Welcome to 🇺🇬. We look forward to strengthening trade ties and doing more business with 🇮🇹 #OPMUganda #InvestInUganda

Nigerian-born Seun Rasheed was working for oil giant Shell in Qatar when a holiday to Rwanda set him on a different path. During the trip, the wide gap between the local price of passion fruit and what it sold for in Europe caught his attention. He realised there was an opportunity to build an export business around that price gap. Seven years later, @SoukFarms supplies Rwandan-grown produce – including avocados, chillies and beans – to supermarkets in Europe and the Middle East.
