I share this because I am of the mindset that #fedisbest . NO parent should be told there is a right or wrong way to feed their child. Getting milk in their belly is the best thing EVER, whether it’s formula or boobie juice. #stopshaming #feedyourbaby – at Pleasant Hill, IA

At #fedisbest, we believe parents have the rational capacity to make the best informed choices for their unique family situation. We don't need to debate what is "best" for you; it's not up to us. Between clinically safe feeding methods, true support means #individualizedcare

Just discovered old article from some site shaming bottle feeding mums called La Leche. I still can’t see a single comment of mine quoted in it that is not correct, measured, or reasonable. Time they took it down and admitted their overzealous bullshit does more harm than good!

It's not as inevitable now I believe. Organisations and movements like #fedisbest #dontjudgejustfeed #isupportyou are gaining momentum. I too had pnd linked to unexpectedly being unable to breastfeed 4 years ago.

I wish there was decent education on formula feeding. Equally as crap as breastfeeding advice from my experience.
We are at the #midwiferyconf today hearing about how maternity services are being made safer and kinder for families - come say hello!

I was devastated when I ‘failed’ to BF. Felt like a rubbish mum for months, despite my son (and me) being happier and healthier once EFF. He’s now a strong, healthy 15 month old. The language used around baby feeding urgently needs to change.

They really don’t think much of women who don’t conform, do they? Let us make our own choices about what is best for us and our babies #fedisbest #fedisfeminist #stopformulashaming (2/2)

The recurrent theme of ‘formula fed babies are overfed’ is yet another way that lactivists shame mums who don’t BF - not only are we so stupid that we are taken in by evil formula companies, but we are also so stupid we can’t read our babies’ feeding cues 🙄 #fedisbest (1/2) xitter.gq/atuteur/status/1019582…

But I don't think this is what #fedisbest is really about. And unfortunately for a few women, no amount of support, education, and effort is enough to be able to EBF. FiB is looking out for these women.

I can totally see where the phrase "Fed is Best" could be interpreted otherwise. Some providers are quick to give a bottle as say "it's better than starving, too bad about breastfeeding" when a little support could've made all the difference with breastfeeding. (5/?)
