Clinched at least a share of another Big 10 regular season title and the top seed in the conference tournament in two weeks in Columbus.

Dude made a 4 footer on the last for 3.75 million and is jumping on a red-eye to play in Europe.
Dude went to Africa at Christmas to get into the Masters and now headed to Switzerland off a solo 3rd at Tour Champ to stay fresh in case he’s on Pres Cup
Northwestern field hockey celebrates ‘25 title at Wrigley. Em (second from right) and ‘26 seniors in the front row.
It’s invaluable for someone to be THE historical resource for one thing but Lee is that rare gem who is THE source for two - UNC football & golf/life in Pinehurst. Thank you for helping us tell the Tar Heel football story for decades. Enjoy many a round in the Southern Pines.
Some personal news on the cusp of a new football season: After 22 years on the sidelines for Tar Heel football (and one of those in the booth during Covid-19) and 262 games from Boston to Miami to San Diego and of course the incomparable Kenan Stadium, it’s time a change—the bucket list, travel with The Missus and the sweetest baby granddaughter you ever saw. I’ll still pop up on Goheels and Born & Bred this season and have a centennial edition of my “Football in a Forest” book to knock out in 2027. But for the moment, best wishes to Jones and the crew, thanks for the memories and I’ll have you guys in my AirPods on the back nine.

For those of you who don’t know Kenny or are wondering why so many people - coaches, media, SIDs and just friends - feel the need to share their thoughts on this sad night, read WDRB’s excellent look at his life and work.
Not a story I ever wanted to write. Kenny Klein, beloved longtime sports information director at the University of Louisville, has died at 66 wdrb.com/sports/u-of-l-sport…
Hard to put into words the degree to which people across the sports world will miss Kenny Klein. One of the best ever. And even better guy than a legendary SID. It was an honor to call him a colleague and friend. His loss is devastating. Prayers to his family and friends.
Suggestion for NBA/ESPN. Hold the second round behind closed doors from 6-8 pm and make all the trades. Then roll out the picks with the players on the teams they are really going to play for in a one-hour show from 8-9 pm.
Tonight is the 84th time Carolina has played a winner-take-all game/match to decide an NCAA championship. Baseball is one of 10 different sports to compete in a national title game/match. UNC enters the game 52-31 in winner-take-all matchups. #GoHeels
Proud dad moment. It’s bling day at Northwestern field hockey. Two straight NCAA and Big Ten titles brings rings but my favorite is the academic award for the highest grade point average on the team (at Northwestern!). You rock Em! ❤️
Grew up in Chapel Hill, teaching professional at Finley Golf Club for 33 years. Loves his alma mater, dedicated to Carolina Athletics and the people he taught -- and the best next-door neighbor someone who can barely mow his lawn could ever hope to know. goheels.com/news/2026/4/28/g…
My scorer's table running mate, Freddie Kiger, was one of several Tar Heels who recently received the Alumni Association's Distinguished Service Medal. Statistician, teacher, historian, Civil War/UNC/Chapel Hill expert ... mostly a dear friend to so many. The Mayor! #GoHeels

In advance of tomorrow night's debut of the ACC Network's feature doc (8 p.m.) on the 1993 NCAA champion Tar Heels, reposting a story written for the 25th anniversary reunion the team held in September 2017. goheels.com/news/2017/9/24/m…
Privileged to have watched advance copy. Every Tar Heel will thoroughly enjoy. Great highlights, interviews with the players & staff, home movies that go behind the scenes & heartfelt memories of loved ones lost. Premieres Saturday after UNC-Wake Forest on ACC Network. #GoHeels
Today would have been my dad’s 100th birthday. He died Labor Day 2024 at age 98. Probably still calling balls and strikes from above.
