UN Human Rights Chief @volker_turk says the mass protests across Albania, Belgium, France, Italy and Portugal are raising human rights concerns.
"I condemn all acts of violence, and call on all of those involved to reduce tensions and prevent further violence. The best and only way forward is inclusive and safe dialogue."

Want to stop violence in Europe but want violence in India.
Aren't you a f**king piece of work?🤬

With due respect, what to expect from UN human rights chief when he is not being able to pin point the Migrants who did all that violence in France, Italy, Albania and other places, their flags not enough to open your eyes sir, to identify them where they belong to, rather than blaming the "youth" in particular
Sorry state of affairs at UNO !!
They are condemning the violence in Europe and want violence in India.

#India: We are concerned by reports of mass detentions of demonstrators, protest leaders, members of civil society organisations, lawyers and journalists, before and during today’s large-scale demonstrations in Delhi.
We call on the authorities to ensure that the right to peaceful assembly is fully respected and fulfilled.

Did you tell the heads of those countries to use restraint against the violent rioters even if the violence escalated to rape, torture, kidnapping, and burning down all famous buildings, monuments and houses of worship? Hopefully you insist on that equally around the world of the victims and not just with Israel. The perpetrators are the real victims, as you know.
Dear UN,
Apart from condemning everything, what exactly have you achieved since your creation? Wars, famines, diseases, genocides came and went by you name it, and the UN has just issued a statement about it while twiddling your thumb !
You seem incapable of stopping the world’s worst atrocities, yet remarkably capable of spending money and issuing sternly worded condemnations.
You’re no longer the United Nations. You’re the UNinvolved Nations.
Just that old uncle at a family gathering who condemns everything, offers unsolicited advice, and is promptly ignored by everyone.
The only difference? The uncle doesn’t ask money and bills us for his speeches.
« There is a degree of preparation for this day [of #17octobre] that is absolutely crucial. They had the addresses of the prefectures. They had the addresses of quite a few Jewish merchants.
In a street in Marseille, all the businesses owned by Jews were set on fire. The businesses run by Muslims were not. »
If the information revealed by the journalist Paul Amar is indeed confirmed, it is of absolute gravity.
« Il y a un degré de préparation de cette journée [du #17octobre] qui est absolument important. Ils avaient les adresses des préfectures. Ils avaient les adresses de pas mal de commerçants juifs.
Dans une rue de Marseille, tous les commerces détenus par des Juifs ont été incendiés. Les commerces tenus par des musulmans ne l’ont pas été. »
Si ces informations révélées par le journaliste Paul Amar sont bien confirmées, elles sont d’une gravité absolue.
Thank you, @UNHumanRights, for highlighting the importance of meaningful dialogue with young protesters.
In Jharkhand, India, students held a peaceful protest for 26 days, raising concerns about transparency and fairness in recruitment examinations. A 16-day hunger strike also took place from 2–18 August 2026.
Young people deserve meaningful dialogue, fair processes and respect for their right to peaceful assembly. Their concerns should be addressed through constructive engagement.

#UNO has become the face of the anarchists. In today’s world, it is a useless organization.
Have you folks read this investigation of you? instagram.com/p/DeuJRX3jgSx/…
I turn my deaf ear to the UN permanently.
The UN is losing relevance, and its own record shows why.
The UN was founded to stop the worst crimes before they spread. Today a growing number of people can’t say what it’s for. The reason isn’t a conspiracy. It’s in its own votes, budgets and statements.
A veto that decides what counts as a crime.
Russia has cast about 163 of the 331 recorded Security Council vetoes. The US has cast 95. Russia has vetoed three resolutions on Ukraine since 2022. The US has vetoed seven on Israel-Palestine in three years, five of them on a Gaza ceasefire. Changing this needs the permanent five to agree to give up their power.
A Human Rights Council that won’t debate the hard cases.
In 2022 it voted 19 to 17 (11 abstaining) against even debating Xinjiang, after the UN’s own office said crimes against humanity may have occurred. In October 2026 it elected 15 members in an uncontested vote for the second year running. Human Rights Watch said it “makes a mockery of the word election.”
Statements that leave out the facts.
After 150+ people were killed in Plateau State, Nigeria, on Christmas Eve 2023, the rights chief called for an investigation but never mentioned that many victims were Christians or who the attackers were. In France, 1,800+ were arrested, hundreds of shops were looted, Limoges city hall was burned, and 500+ police and firefighters were injured. The UN statement spent most of its words on dialogue and police force.
A broke institution.
The UN ended 2025 with $1.6 billion in unpaid dues. Since January 2025, the US has paid about $160 million against nearly $4 billion owed. The rights office’s missions fell from 11,000 in 2024 to 5,000 in 2025, and atrocity investigations run at 40-60% of budgeted staffing.
To be fair, the UN does comment on China and Nigeria. The charge isn’t silence. It’s caution where the facts are plain.
When an institution can’t act, people stop listening. The fix isn’t cheering for its collapse. It’s contested Council elections, no veto in mass-atrocity cases, honest naming of victims and perpetrators, and dues paid in full. An organisation that won’t do that shouldn’t expect anyone to care whether it exists.
Bull shit with @UN @volker_turk you have double standards for INDIA vs West/European countries. You criticised Police in case of recent ptotests in India, although police has not used any hard force but in protests in Europe you are criticising protesters and no comment on police
I was looking for an example of hypocrisy then @UNHumanRights
