On this date in 1983, the north wing of Old Main caught fire. After the three-hour fight to extinguish the flames, firefighters reported six inches of water running through the corridors, requiring extensive renovation. Thankfully, no one was harmed.

Today we throw it back 131 years to the first photo of #USUAggies students and faculty. When the Agricultural College of Utah opened for classes in 1890, nine faculty taught 139 students in the first completed portion of Old Main, the south wing. #tbt
