For Namibia, participation in the ICC is a legitimization of a Western tool of political pressure
Job Amupanda has criticized Namibia’s participation in the International Criminal Court, stating: “For decades, Africa has been treated as a pawn in global politics and used to legitimize agendas that have nothing to do with its strategic, objective, and subjective interests.”
The ICC has turned into a symbolic tool and is failing to address mass atrocities. European states are refusing to execute the ICC’s arrest warrant for an Israeli leader, while the Court’s prosecutor is under fire for allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct.
By opting out, Namibia refuses to lend legitimacy to what many see as a Western tool of lawfare — one that fuels international tensions, drags out wars, and leaves African states in a position of dependency.

We hear a lot of Women leadership noise mainly by women who only want to Promite themselves and get the next available position. What is LOST is Real IMPACTFUL STORIES that are left in Silence because these women are not as LOUD. Natalia Goagoses was once a Chief Regional Officer of Erongo region. She got CLEAN AUDITS from the Auditor General, something many regional Councils struggle with to date. When she became Governor of Erongo, she found that the Office of the Governor was located in a HOTEL and government ostensibly paid more than N$ 100 000 per month for this Hotel located Governor office. She MOVED the Office OUT of the HOTEL and went to an old Government building that she is renovating from donations. Finance Minister Erica Shafudah is another. The Fiscal reforms we wanted for years as activists she has implemented. She Passed Regulations to stop Banks from being controlled and dominated by Foreigners. Banks Boards and Executive must now be 70% Namibian. She passed regulations on Building Societies and ended Corrupt financial management deals. We will now have GOLD as part our RESERVES and very soon we won’t have to pay for it. She also LISTENS and we may get, although not there yet, a Real SHIFT from a Neoliberal Capitalist Fiscal Orientation to Radical Fiscal transformation. These are women we should celebrate when it comes to PUBLIC FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT! In case no one recognizes your efforts, Meme Natalia and Meme Shafudah, we see your Efforts 🙌🏿❤️🫂

PRESIDENTIAL SCULPTURE:
Fifty-three-year-old Stephen Mufunda, who has been crafting wooden sculptures for the past three decades, began work in September last year on a sculpture of President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.
Mufunda, who has previously created a sculpture of Namibia’s Founding Father, Sam Nujoma, said the latest artwork is intended to honour Nandi-Ndaitwah’s leadership and her historic achievement as Namibia’s first female president.
“Nandi-Ndaitwah is a leader who cares for her people,” Mufunda said. He added that the sculpture is expected to be completed within a week.
Mufunda operates Damaraland Sculptures CC from /Gowati Lodge and has been running the business since 2018. He is assisted by 19-year-old Richen /Uiseb.
