Now the focus is on turning ambition into results.
The work continues.

The time for talk has long passed. This government is putting its money where its mouth is when it comes to supporting women and girls.
We'll back practical action to confine misogyny to the history books - in public services, workplaces, and online.

We can do this. It’s time to stop accepting rough sleeping as a fact of life and unite the country behind a mission to end it.
It was a privilege speaking at the first ever rough sleeping summit @10DowningStreet bringing together businesses, charities, housing providers and local leaders to help make this mission a reality.

This is a big ambition – we know that. But we won’t back down from making sure everyone has the offer of a route off the streets this Christmas.
Today’s summit is about bringing every part of society together behind that mission. We’ll keep working together to tackle the root causes of homelessness and end rough sleeping for good.

I promised to take back the political megaphone and set out a clear message about what we stand for and whose side we are on.
That’s exactly what we’re doing: being boldly, confidently, authentically Labour.

Ignore the misinformation.
We need to fix a small number of specific flaws that the previous government knowingly left in its Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act 2024 to ensure that the enfranchisement measures in that piece of legislation can operate as intended.
We have made clear we intend to make those fixes through our forthcoming Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Bill.
Once we have done so and can implement the new valuation process, it will be cheaper and easier for leaseholders to extend their lease or buy their freehold.
