"marincess going second??" - primarily a flex deck, but it can perform going second and can potentially otk. leviathan facilitates it even more
"is marincess busted?" - no.
Never forget that I've won far too many streamer tournaments with Marincess where I'm forced to go second against borderline meta if not meta (but nerfed in tournament)
Best one is still Ashie's birthday tournament. I had to sweat as much as I do in a DC cup to get that win.
The new marincess support does put a question on my mind:
Is it better to go pure marincess + half a deck of handtraps again or is marincess + umi engine still better?
Great problem to have, we'll see if the last cards that need to be revealed show anything better
To the people complaining that Marincess has a hand look and a habakiri:
1) The hand look released last year to minimal fanfare. Also both it's effects are once per turn. It's not a rotary.
2) leviathan is just enabling maricess's strong point most consistently: going second
Ultimately Marincess needs:
An endboard piece that isn't Argonaut or a co-linked Argo/Bubble + Zealantis
A more restricted splash mage. He puts in far more weight that people give him credit.
Some form of Clown Crew New Face: shuffle 3 "marincess" cards from gy/ban to draw 1
