Why did you think we invented blockchain? We invented blockchain because we knew machine learning would attack fragile systems. We invented blockchain to make uncensorable incorruptible unstoppable databases. I think people didnt get this memo and thought we were messing around. Well welcome to Moores Law. Technology has reached the exact place we predicted. All fragile centralized off chain systems and data will be corrupted. Only decentralized distributed data will survive. This is why we crypto. Welcome.

🚨Brilliant interview! 💸💰💸💰💸💰💸 🚨How do banks create money ? 💸💰💸💰💸💰💸 🚨Prof Werner is incomparable. In the 5000 yr history of banking no-one has ever done an imperical study of banking to show where the money comes from- until now. Step up the rock star economist Professor Richard Werner. His amazing qualifications and held positions makes the eye water. He is truly the authority on this subject. Banks are thought of as deposit taking entities who lend money - but that is just wrong. His assessment - Banks dont lend money but they misrepresent (lie) to their customers and say that they do.

The world is preparing for the internet to SHUT DOWN. Yesterday, the UK government urged households to keep 3 days of food, water and cash at home. Among the risks are CYBERATTACKS that could disrupt power, internet access and card payments. And this week showed how quickly that can happen. As news of critical PHP flaws spread, attempts to exploit them climbed into the MILLIONS. Several websites gone dark while they worked to secure them. Now imagine a wider outage affecting several essential services at once. You’re buying groceries, but the checkout can’t process your card. You try withdrawing cash, but the ATM is offline. Your rent is due, but your banking app won’t load. You need medication, but the pharmacy can’t access your prescription. You arrive for surgery, but the hospital’s systems are down. You’re stranded at the airport because your airline can’t check you in. You log in for work, but your company’s systems are locked. You try calling your family, but the mobile network is down. These are ALL possible consequences of major outages. Your own phone or laptop doesn’t have to be hacked for you to feel the impact. The services you depend on just have to stop working. Prepare while everything still works.

THE LONG-TERM DEBT CYCLE IS UPON US! What is the long-term debt cycle, you ask? Read this and don't say I didn't warn you! Here's how governments run this cycle: 1. Fuel economic growth by incentivising private sector to take on debt. Debt brings spending forward, stimulates the demand, funds investment. 2. Keep calm and keep going until private sector is drowning in debt. 3. Once private debt becomes crippling, bail out the private sector. Convert private debt into government debt by putting it on the government's balance sheet via fiscal deficits and monetary policy. 4. Well done, comrade! Private sector has more capacity to take on more debt. This is the start of another business/credit cycle, also known as the short-term debt cycle. 5. Once the private sector reaches the debt limit again, convert its debt into taxpayers' debt. Again. 6. Keep going and continue incentivising the private sector to borrow more, occasionally putting its debt onto a government's balance sheet. With every cycle, private and public debt reaches higher highs and higher lows and the total debt keeps growing. 7. To slow the pace of these short-term debt cycles, run a mild level of inflation in the background and structurally decrease interest rates to make debt servicing more affordable. 8. Once rates hit zero and the government capacity for debt is reached, inflate the debt away via currency debasement. Force domestic holders (banks, pension funds) to own your bonds, run large budget deficits, increases spending, supported by central bank debt monetization. Hold rates below inflation and below nominal growth. Debt to GDP drops. Job well done. 9. Start the cycle again. The chart below shows the intricate dance between private sector and government debt in the US. You can see the end of the previous long-term debt cycle in 1930's. Private debt peaked via a combination of modest deleveraging, gold revaluation, and nominal GDP growth. The Federal debt exploded shortly after via massive fiscal deficits that were monetised by the Fed. The debt was then deflated away via a combination of low rates, high inflation, and high nominal growth. Over the last 50 years, you can also see how private debt reductions are accompanied by public debt growth, most notably in 2008. While we passed a recent peak in private debt, the government debt keeps on rising with no end in sight for deficit spending.

WHEN YOU REALIZE THE BABY BOOM WASN'T JUST SOLDIERS COMING HOME HORNY. It was soldiers coming home to the GI Bill, free college, 0% down home loans, and low interest business loans. It was strong unions. Pensions. A house that cost 2 years of salary. It was confidence that the future was actually going to be better than the present. That's what produced a baby boom. Not romance. Security. You want a higher birth rate now? Give people a future where they know their kids will actually be okay. That's the whole formula. It's not complicated. It's just expensive, and nobody in charge wants to pay for it twice.

The question is not if we will have a bear market, the question is if this administration can afford to let us have a bear market. - AI Capex is 50% of GDP. If it stops or slows down, GDP growth goes down the drain. No GDP growth = recession. Mainstreet gets hit the worst as the labor market will collapse. - 90% of consumer spending is done by the top 10%. They are levered against their assets that allow them to keep spending because their stocks keep going up. Stocks go down? Goodbye to consumer spending as we enter an actual recession given normal consumers already are borrowing from credit cards to pay for everything. - Social security will be wrecked over the coming 10 years. Why do you think we got the Trump Accounts? Because the administration believes in financial literacy? No, they need a replacement and having kids compound in the stock market to basically build their retirement account from birth could replace social security. That means stocks have to go up for those accounts to be worth anything and actually compound. Most 401Ks in this country are basically seen as retirement accounts. If the admin lets the market crash, people will not be able to afford retirement when social security benefits get cut into 2032. - We are $40T in debt. Bond yields continue to go higher which means the interest expense on our debt is approaching a significant part of our overall spending. The literal only way to solve this is cut spending or grow. Repubs or Dems will not cut spending…so growth is the only answer. If the market crashes, the chances of sustained growth in the greatest tech buildout we have ever seen will be impossible and ultimately make our debt situation even worse. We have to grow. Not saying we can’t get into some horrible bear market, but given how levered the entire economy is to AI, which is basically the entire stock market, I do think this admin will try very hard to make sure we don’t have some horrible, ugly crash. If they let it happen, everything goes down the drain and the difference between now and dotcom is that demand for GPUs is very real (no oversupply) and the difference between now and 2008 is that the potential credit issue is not in housing and banks, it’s within GPUs and there is so much demand that the hyperscalers + Nvidia + the admin could come in to make sure things don’t get as bad as then. Maybe we could have some epic crash, but this administration really cannot afford to let that happen.

The initial response to this article has been incredible. The S&P 500 is now <1% away from a record high but 206 of its components are down over -30%. Never in history has this happened before. It's the "Bear-Bull Market Paradox." Bookmark this.

People who achieve success and drive progress deeply understand the cause-effect relationships that govern reality and have principles for using them to get what they want. The converse is also true: Idealists who are not well grounded in reality create problems, not progress. What does a successful life look like? We all have our own deepseated needs, so we each have to decide for ourselves what success is. I don’t care whether you want to be a master of the universe, a couch potato, or anything else—I really don’t. Some people want to change the world and others want to operate in simple harmony with it and savor life. Neither is better. Each of us needs to decide what we value most and choose the paths we take to achieve it. #principleoftheday
