The word ‘geek’ has been around since at least 1965 when it was first used to describe someone with an unhealthy obsession. Over time, society’s perception of geeks shifted from negative to positive because they are now seen as highly competent individuals who can hold (1/2)
their own against most anyone else in any field – even if you don’t think that there is anything special about them!
