Jack O’Lantern’s got family?!🎃
Meet little brother: Jeff O’Lantern!
Where Jack is scary, Jeff is sweet.
Where Jack is loud, Jeff is gentle.

Just as Jeff feels he’s failing at Halloween, he finds his unique talents are EXACTLY what the night needs.

I ❤️ THIS STORY SO MUCH!💀🐈⬛
Slightly spooky, sassy & funny w/a philosophical streak, The Skeleton and the Cat is a picture/chapter book hybrid about an unlikely friendship.
Like a bumblebee, it shouldn’t work.
But it does & makes the 🌎 more beautiful.

Infancy has its share of frustrations.
Just ask this little one.
Check out his reaction to his rattle as he and Dad join forces to make it come alive with sound - his eyes WIDE OPEN with amazement. 👀
When it stops, we can clearly read his thoughts: Let’s do that again!
But watch what happens when our hero tries to replicate the sound without Dad’s assistance.
He’s ready with the eyes and posture… but can’t make the rattle do its trick.
That’s because, in the first example, Dad contributed a motor skill far beyond this little one’s independent abilities: a precise, high speed vibration of the arm.
Watching our hero’s valiant effort to replicate the experience, only to fall short offers a game changing reminder for parents of young children.
That reminder: childhood is a time during which your baby’s growing ambitions often find themselves at odds with their current abilities… and that can lead to frustration.
The more sensitive and observant you are, the better you can support your baby’s goal-oriented activities. But that’s not all.
The more closely you watch, the more attuned to your baby’s desires and frustrations you will become. And the more your outlook on their behaviors will be transformed.
Know this: Babies aren’t “fussy.” Or “bad.”
But they are easily frustrated when their needs and desires are out of step with their abilities to address them.
Whether it’s a desire for comfort and attachment, or food, or something as simple as making a toy rattle make that cool sound… infants aren’t as mysterious as they sometimes seem.
Your powers of observation go a long way toward interpreting your little one’s behaviors and keeping frustration at bay.

Last week, our back hallways surprised Mrs. Dimas with a parade and dance party to celebrate Principal Appreciation Week. The excitement was contagious, and the surprise was well deserved! 🎉

Before dinner, give your child a sniff tour of your spices. What does each one remind them of? Tell them what it reminds you of too. Smells, tastes, words, and memories, all connected in one conversation. 🧠 #EarlyLearning
