“I’m not voting for communists!”
I have taken Dagmar to vote every election since 2024.
She grew up in Nazi-occupied Germany and defected from Soviet-controlled East Berlin to the U.S.
She remembers American GIs liberating Germany.
“He came out of the tank, and he was so handsome,” she tells me.
Dagmar told the election official today she wasn’t voting for communists.
It’s an honor to spend part of my Election Day each year with someone who understands the fight for freedom.
