While urban lives carry on in comfort, rural coastal families are losing their basic livelihoods. When economic hardship hit during the COVID-19, Utthan stepped forward to support 20 women in Bhavnagar, with a rope-making unit to help them financial independence

Today, the Utthan team was in Valiya block, Bharuch district, Gujarat, celebrating Global Handwashing Day. Celebrated on October 15th this day is an advocacy effort towards promoting handwashing as one of the simplest and affordable ways to prevent disease & save lives.

Through our ₹25,000 Revolving SEED Fund, women accessloans directly through their SHGs. As each woman repays her loan, the money flows back into the collective pot—revolving to launch the next enterprise. 3,451 women across 300 SHGs are show us what entrepreneurship looks like
