toto on what impressed him most about kimi & what people don’t see abt the journey behind the scenes 🥹: “there were many people last year who, after Kimi went nine consecutive races with no point, said he shouldn’t have been at Mercedes. People from other teams were saying that he shouldn’t even have been in F1. it wasn’t easy for him. at Spa, after yet another difficult race, he cried, and those tears reflected just how difficult that moment was for him. but now, seeing him drive like this makes everything incredibly rewarding. seeing what he is capable of and how he is working with the team. that is our real victory” “overall, i think Kimi has changed his mindset considerably and has found his own way of making things work. and before the race in austin, he came into my office, sat down on the sofa, and told me: ‘i’m going to enjoy myself, and i’m not thinking about the championship at all’ i told him to hold on to that attitude. he has the best job in the world, and he must never forget that. but the way he thinks and approaches racing is incredible. He has taken a huge step forward in terms of his mindset this year, and we are all very proud of him.” awwww 🥹💙
