Welcome, August! 👋
This National Traffic Safety Awareness Month, let's commit to safer roads:
⚫ Slow down in school zones and residential areas.
⚫ Put away distractions.
⚫ Stay alert for pedestrians, cyclists and school buses.
It only takes a few SECONDS for a thief to strike. 🏃💨 Protect yourself by locking your doors, keeping your keys with you and hiding your valuables out of sight. Small habits save big headaches. 🔒🔑
If you live in an area that's frequently at risk for hurricanes, take a moment to refresh your home disaster supply kit. Your kit should include necessities your household may need in case of emergency, including enough food and water to last several days and first aid supplies.

Tuesday- July 28th- Severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening. The greatest threat is damaging winds. Localized flash flooding, large hail, and isolated tornadoes are secondary threats.
When high temps come to your area, make sure to look out for your four-legged family members and get them #SummerReady too! Don’t let dogs linger on hot pavement and make sure pets of all kinds stay properly hydrated by giving them lots of water. More: ready.gov/pets

More than one track can mean more than one train. Cross only at designated crossings and obey all signs and signals. Wait until all tracks are clear before you cross. See Tracks? Think Train!® #CrossingSafety #SeeTracksThinkTrain

New behind the wheel? Slow down and be ready to stop at every crossing. Never try to beat a train, you cannot judge its speed. A train is quieter and faster than you think. Always expect a train. See Tracks? Think Train!®

Farm country. Small towns. Big cities.
No matter where you see tracks, always expect a train. Trains can run on any track, at any time, from either direction.
Cross legally and safely. Stay off railroad tracks and property.

Did you know? Since 1972, train collisions at crossings have dropped about 81%, from roughly 12,000 a year to about 2,272 in June 2026. There is still work to do. Always expect a train.
