this was the catalyst. when the party bosses scoffed at bernie, he kept pushing. i saw these rallies firsthand. ppl were looking for answers to what had taken place in 24. bernie became the true leader of the party. his impact is felt w his rhetoric echoing through the most moderate campaigns this past year.

Wouldn't it just fry Trump for Governor Amy Klobuchar to appoint Governor Tim Walz to fill her Senate seat. His cabinet would have to sit and answer to Senator Tim Walz.

At this moment of history, the Democratic National Committee and National Finance Committee have ignored the Southern States and gave no resources to the campaigns of Angie Nixon (FL), Jamie Davis(LA), and Scott Colom (MISS). Ms. Nixon and Mr. Davis lost by a couple of % points. Mr. Colom awaits a miracle victory on a razors edge. The Supreme Court destroyed the Voters Right Act of the Civil Rights movement and Black folks answered the clarion call to fight back because there is BLOOD ON THAT BALLOT BOX. To many died to turn back now. From this night forward there is a New Southern Stratergy led by advocates like Gary Chambers in Louisiana and Stacey Adams in Georgia. This is political malpractice by Chuck Schumer and the National Democratic Party. So while evil people plot, good people plan! The fight continues in the morning. Mississippi will be battlefront. If you voted for Mississippi Democrat Scott Colom by affidavit because you didn’t have voter ID, you have until Tuesday, November 10 to fix it. Colom leads by 43 votes, and he needs every single vote to win.

I’ve been with Bernie
For 40 years - since he was the lone voice in the senate - speaking out against the Iraq war - worked on both presidential campaign - we had gone so far to the right the new deal was considered radical he made the politically unthinkable the politically inevitable - and the progressive movement he’s led is now thriving - becoming an unstoppable political reality as the only antidote to fascism
New deal 2.0
11 years ago I got a call to be part of the rag tag crew after spitballing everyday out into the ether of cable news land about how great he was. Worked with the best people in the world. Never imagined the rollercoaster decade we went through.
Thank you to Bernie for the seeing the long game. 30 years in you ran for POTUS. 40 years you paved the way for today. Can’t wait for what’s next.

Corbin is great.
For 18 years, corporate media effectively banned the few of us who dared to utter this lesson about Obama turning hope and change into more of the same.
I am glad @corbintrent said it - and that it is finally allowed to be uttered in corporate media.
Thank you @WPR for using #CARTOGRAMS to illustrate elections. @DanRShafer @abc wpr.org/elections/2026-gener…

I reviewed @IsabellaMWeber’s phenomenal new book for @newrepublic.
When people can’t afford essentials, to respond with “Just let the market work” isn’t just cruel—it’s stupid. It’s kindergarten-level magical thinking, dressed up as hard-nosed realism. Anti-Fascist Economics treats these idiotic ideas with the derision they deserve. We should too.

Trump's second border wall is going up through Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, and they're ripping out sacred saguaros to build it. 🌵
This video from Russ McSpadden of the Center for Biological Diversity shows saguaros on the ground next to the bollards for the new wall. It shows thousands of saguaros have been removed, along with ocotillo and all kinds of other plants and vegetation.
The Tohono O'odham call the saguaro ha:şañ. In their custom, saguaros are considered people. Removing one isn't just destroying a plant, it's considered an act of violence against a person.
These creatures grow about an inch in their first eight years. They don't flower until 35. They don't grow an arm for 50 to 70 years. They live 150 years or more.
And they provide homes for other critters. Gila woodpeckers carve nests into saguaros, and elf owls, kestrels and purple martins move in after.
And "just transplant them" doesn't always work. An NPS official told federal auditors that as many as half didn't survive the move. In 2020, thousands were removed for the first 30-foot wall. Some were transplanted. Most didn't survive. Now the survivors are being torn out again. McSpadden: "The few that did survive are being transplanted again, so exponentially less chance of survival for those saguaros."
And thousands more are slated to be ripped out of the Tohono O'odham Nation's own land. The Nation says Border Patrol told them it's happening. Chairman Verlon Jose: "Trespassing on our land to remove the sacred saguaros is like having masked men break into your house and take away your children."
So the Nation went to court to stop it, including an emergency request to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. A federal judge has refused to block the wall and the removal of the saguaros.
Removing a saguaro without a permit is illegal in Arizona. But last November, DHS waived legal requirements there to speed up wall construction.
Check out Russ's video below to see the desecration of the ancient saguaros. It's in the first reply.
What would you do if invaders came onto your land and started desecrating it?

Terrifying rumors are swirling about Israel pressuring Trump to launch a nuclear strike on Iran immediately after the midterms or some other major escalation. I wish I was sure that this was too unhinged to take seriously, but we do not live in sane times where these kinds of dismissals are possible. Instead, we live amidst the rise of end times fascism, where dangerous accelerationists hold enormous sway in both the Israeli and U.S. governments.
The hardcore religious end timers have partnered with criminals like Trump, Netanyahu, and several tech oligarchs whose only path to avoiding legal accountability for their many crimes is dramatic (and distracting) escalation. I desperately hope the rumors are exaggerated, but we need to be ready in case they are not.
That's why we are releasing this video today on the eve of the U.S. midterms. We can defeat these maniacs, but only if we know what we are up against.
