Big Tech will spend $700B+ building AI this year. Visa and Mastercard can collect a fee when AI agents shop with a card—without funding the build. In past booms, investors in the builders lost up to 99%. The networks collecting tolls kept getting paid. Could AI repeat that pattern? Who collects AI's toll? lanternlabs.net/The_Toll_on_…

Sorry to interrupt your Sunday, friends. I really hesitated to write this, but if I don’t speak up today, I will be facing a severe financial crisis within a week or two. To be clear, I am not asking for charity or financial help. I am asking for work. I have been completely without work for the last three months. My last project ended on June 30th, and since then I have knocked on every door I know—calling, texting, meeting contacts, and following up. People say they will try, but after that first talk, the silence takes over. Calls go unanswered or get cut after a couple of rings. I honestly don't know whether the industry is shifting because of AI or if my age (52) is working against me, but despite over 13 years of solid experience in the field, nothing has materialized. Now, my savings are down to the very end. I can barely hold out for another week or two. I am a professional content writer, translator, and speaker who is comfortable on stage and in front of the camera. I write and translate fluently across Gujarati, Hindi, and English, with Gujarati being my strongest suit. Many of you already know my grasp of politics and my political writing, but I am equally adept at covering Bollywood and cricket. My priority is media houses, digital platforms, or publications, but I am open to any genuine writing or translation opportunity. I can work remotely or take up assignments on-site anywhere in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, as I need to be close to my elderly mother to take care of her health. Because my situation is urgent, I am especially looking for quick-turnaround freelance assignments or immediate projects where payments can be settled on submission. If you or anyone in your circle has work, please reach out to me directly in my DMs. A humble, earnest request: while I deeply value your warmth, please refrain from sending just "best wishes" or "stay strong" messages right now. I am fighting hard to stay out of a very dark headspace, and right now, only actual work leads can pull me through. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you for your support. My inbox is open. 🙏

The recent Raghav Productivity Enhancers Ltd.–TRL Krosaki Refractories Ltd. JV has an interesting detail that deserves attention. RPEL’s stock has also seen a notable 65% move over last 3 mths The JV is between RPEL and TRL Krosaki Refractories, a Nippon Steel subsidiary. RPEL will own 80%, with TRLK holding 20%. But the standout feature is the royalty arrangement. RPEL will receive a royalty from the JV for using its patented manufacturing technology. A Japanese company paying an Indian company for its technology is unusual. It also provides an external validation of RPEL’s IP and manufacturing know-how. The JV will be based in East India, close to a large steel and foundry cluster. It will also get access to TRLK’s quartzite mines — an important raw material for ramming mass. The ownership, technology royalty and raw-material access make this more than a straightforward JV announcement. Source: business-standard.com/market…

Jude Bellingham on Messi after the match: “I have to say, at 39 or 40 years old, to still be playing at this level is simply exceptional. People watch him on television and think they understand how good he is, but when you’re actually on the pitch against him, it’s completely different. He’s so quick over the first few yards. You think you’ve got him, then he changes direction, glides away and suddenly he’s gone. It’s almost impossible to get close enough to make a clean challenge. The way he controls the ball is honestly alien. It feels like it’s glued to his foot. Every touch has a purpose, every movement creates space and he always seems one step ahead of everyone else. I’ve never seen a player at that age move with so much intelligence and composure. Most players slow down, but Messi has found another way to dominate games. He doesn’t waste energy—he controls the tempo. If I respected Messi before tonight, I respect him even more now. Sharing the pitch with him only makes you appreciate how special he really is. He’s one of those players you study growing up, and then when you finally play against him, you realise why people call him one of the greatest of all time. He’s an exceptional footballer, and I feel privileged to have experienced that firsthand.”
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Jude Bellingham did not make these comments about Messi; verified post-match interviews contain no such quote and instead show him briefly describing a foul discussion. timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/footbal… hindustantimes.com/sports/us-spor…

You remember the auction room of 2018. Some kid from Patiala, barely old enough to vote, zero first class games to his name, suddenly worth 4.8 crore. It looked like the kind of punt that destroys franchises. 7 years on, that same kid is hitting sixes like his life depends on it. Because it does. From 2019 to 2022, Prabhsimran played just 6 IPL games. Punjab kept the chequebook open, kept him on roster, kept whispering about potential. But potential without release rots you. You spend nights in hotels carrying water bottles. You watch Gayle & Dhawan do your job. You start believing the auction price was a curse, not a blessing. He ran to stay human. 7 kilometers, then 8. Every morning. The burning in his lungs was better than the silence of the bench. Sachin Tendulkar told him something once; He said most boys would kill to sit where he sat. Told him to find contentment there. Sounds like advice for a monk, not a cricketer. But Prabhsimran clung to it. Then 2023 happened. The Impact Player rule dropped. Purists screamed about death of cricket. For Prabhsimran, it was oxygen. He could swing from ball one without worrying about the collapse. 13th May 2023, Kotla. Delhi Capitals had them against the wall. He walked in & played the innings of his life. First 30 balls: 27 runs. Next 35: 76 runs. No other batter crossed even 20 runs for his team while he scored his 1st IPL century. Delhi missed the playoffs. Prabhsimran found himself. But that is not why he bats like his life depends on it. You need to meet Sardar Surjit Singh, His father. Kidney failure. Three sessions a week hooked to machines. The house in Patiala is heavy with it. The only time the old man lights up is when his son opens for Punjab. They carry him to the couch before every game. Position the TV. For 3 hours, the sickness vanishes. Think about that weight. Every boundary is not runs for him, It is medication. Every six is oxygen for an old man. When he says he plays for his father, he means it literally. The single joy in a week of hospital corridors & medical debt. Come the 2025 auction, Punjab retained 2 players only. Shashank Singh & him. 4 crore for a keeper who had spent 4 years doing mostly nothing. He repaid them with 549 runs at 160 strike rate. Shreyas Iyer gave him something simple; Freedom. Told him he was senior now. Told him one bad game would not end him. Freedom to fail. Now he is flying. Strike rate pushing 173 this season. 80* against Mumbai off 39 balls. 51 off 25 against SRH. Each innings bigger than the last: 37, then 43, then 51, then 80*. The boy who waited is now the man who delivers.

Kindly Retweet please for wider reach *URGENT APPEAL FOR HELP* Dear Friends, Radhey Radhey! We write to you today with folded hands, seeking your urgent support in this hour of great need. The floods in Vrindavan have severely impacted the lives of the elderly Mothers and Babas under the care of Paramhansa Yogananda Public Charitable Trust. Their fragile huts and small rooms have been washed over by the relentless rise of the Yamuna. Most have lost the few belongings they held dear, while many are stranded in unsafe conditions or have taken shelter in temporary homes. Since 2nd August, our staff have been going out daily, initially in tractors and now due to the rising water levels, in boats—first to rescue elderly Mothers, Babas and stray animals, taking them to temporary shelters, and now to deliver drinking water, dry ration, medicine and urgent relief to those unwilling to leave their small shelters out of fear of theft. We faced a similar trial during the floods of 2023. That experience taught us how to respond swiftly and wisely, enabling us to reach many in time. The relentless rains and overflowing Yamuna have once again submerged both our Mothers’ homes and even the quarters of our dedicated staff. Dear friends, we can meet this challenge only with your kindness. Every donation can become food on an empty plate, safe shelter for the displaced, and vital medical care for the sick and frail. We humbly appeal to you—please open your hearts. Join us in this seva to protect and restore hope for Vrindavan’s abandoned Mothers and Babas. In this darkest hour, your generosity can bring them light. With prayers for your well-being, On behalf of the Mothers of Vrindavan, Yogananda Trust Team 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 share.google/EVVIcM8WItJsLZD…
