We have joined @IDSAInfo, @ASMicrobiology, and 19 other medical, scientific, public health and patient organizations, in calling for the resignation of HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., to ensure the health of the American people.

After careful consideration, we insist on Kennedy’s resignation to restore the integrity, credibility and science-driven mission of HHS and all its agencies." with AAI logo

I see your shocking and raise it to fucking outrageous.
These are lies designed to keep American taxpayers from being able to access safe and effective vaccines. It weakens our ability to respond. In the long run, more people will die in a H5N1 pandemic.
This comment from HHS on the decision to stop funding the $MRNA bird flu vaccine is honestly shocking:
"This is not simply about efficacy—it’s about safety, integrity, and trust. The reality is that mRNA technology remains under-tested, and we are not going to spend taxpayer dollars repeating the mistakes of the last administration, which concealed legitimate safety concerns from the public.”

I'm sorry, but this is unacceptable: "Ms Iwasaki" and "Dr. Krumholz." It is an insult to women and to scientists (and esp to women scientists)...Great Op-Ed, though😠

So this interview lasted 2 hours so this “you’re scaring me” part might seem like an overreaction or fearmongering to someone without that context.
There’s a lot of evidence to support my hypothesis that a potential H5N1 pandemic would be worse than COVID.
Talked to @BillWhitakerCBS on @60Minutes about H5N1. As Kamran Khan @hellobluedot told Bill, we don’t know if or when this virus might acquire pandemic capabilities, but it can.
And if it does, as I told Bill, that will be worse than COVID. Much worse.

Many attendees came back from this emergency medicine conference with COVID. Masking at the conference itself was optional; the social events... 🤦🏻♀️ It’s not a great time to be on back up!
