The game feels so much better now. I know each tiny detail, each best action sequence for each building. But still, there are a lot of moments in the game when I catch flow trying to optimize delivery chain or understand where the bottleneck of production is

It's hard to explain, but sometimes I lose a lot of time in my game just looking at what villagers are doing - there is something relaxing in it. But also you can find a lot of useful info out of it: if the time was wasted, if resources were missing, etc
In my city builder game you control production through worker actions. Actions can have different properties and features: duration, power, load or bonuses that affect other actions and workers.
Find the best combos, upgrade buildings and unlock new actions and bonuses.
In my city builder game you'll need to set up actions in production buildings, find their balance and combos. Level ups unlock new workers, actions and slots for boosters by your choice
I'm wrapping up the logic and temp UI for new action system and will be ready to start testing it next week. UI is hell... but I'll have fun making brand new actions soon. It's always fun to play the game without yet knowing all best combinations and strategies
I can't believe how bad UE UI widgets are. Once you need to make anything dynamic in your layout it's barely hold itself from breaking. Unity developers love to shit on Unity's UI, but man, I wish they tried UE before doing that...

When operating LLMs in a conversational mode, it's clear that they are deeply subject to suggestion, and spend a lot of energy just following the implications built into the questions you ask.
"Estimate this quantity." It does so, gives you a long explanation, and it seems convincing.
"Wait, don't you think this number should be higher, because of reason X?" It will say yes of course, I didn't properly consider X, here is a higher answer.
"Wait, don't you think this number should be lower, because of reason Y?" Yes of course. It will give you a lower answer.
People use these for programming.
This week I was revisiting buildings' actions game design. Looks like I have a promising solution for the weakest part of it: scaling with the game progress. Next week will be prototyping it and we'll see.

Demo Phase 2 for Order of the Sinking Star is now live on Steam!
The demo disappears on Monday morning, so play while you can. Thanks for all the positive comments; we appreciate you!
This is so funny how often I have moments like: "uuh, that's is why they made it this way in game A". It's always easy to say: "they/you should have done it this way" as you just don't know how deep it will affect other systems and decisions.

I was working hard on main game mechanics for quite a while. It's hard and I got a bit tired. So today I've decided to get a little bit back to buildings generation. Here is a slight improvement in generating animal farms.
Around 10 people played the game. Got very nice feedback that aligns with my vision, which made me very happy.
I've sent keys to different publishers that fit my game the best. We'll see if anyone will be interested in it ๐ค
