It’s been more than a year since in June 2022 the Government of Tanzania evicted Maasai pastoralists living in Loliondo villages close to Serengeti NP. Rural people are used to conservation violence in Tanzania, but the summer of 2022 was unprecedented in TZ in last ~20 years /1

Come to Dakar and you’ll see very clearly where your aid money goes. So many of the foreign residents you see in Dakar are either working for the UN, an NGO, or an embassy. Most are living lives of fine dining, with nice cars, large apartments, maids and constant parties.
